Zugang für Gäste
The apartment has its own private entrance to the side of our house. It also features a separate HVAC system, so you can control the temperature to your liking. It is equipped with a full bathroom and kitchen, and we have provided the cooking basics. There is also a Kroger grocery store about 1/2 mile away where you can stock up on groceries if you plan on cooking. However, there are also many great restaurants in the neighborhood to enjoy! There is also a laundromat right across the street if you need to wash clothes.
Parking is available on the street, and is free without restrictions on weekends. If you are staying mid-week, we can provide 1 guest parking pass so you will be able to park on the street close to the apartment. We do require that this is returned at the end of your stay. If you have additional vehicles, there is free street parking on Cary st. (2 blocks away).

We live on the premises in the main house, and are available to assist with whatever you may need. You will have a private entrance, and the space is completely separate from our part of the house.
Weitere wichtige Infos
-What's an English Basement? It is a half-above, half-below-ground dwelling that takes up an entire floor of a townhome and is an independent apartment-- there is a separate entrance, separate HVAC, and a full kitchen and bathroom. This is a common configuration in historic cities such as New York, London, or Washington DC, where in the past homeowners had live-in staff or in-laws. This listing is for the entire downstairs apartment.
-Since this is a mixed use neighborhood, there can be some street noise at night, and sometimes the college kids in the area can be a bit rowdy. We typically don't experience issues with this, but have provided earplugs and a white noise machine as a courtesy just in case. Also, we like to be good neighbors, and ask that you are mindful of noise levels especially after 11pm.
- Please be respectful of the space and the neighbors
- Smoking permitted outside only, use cigarette receptacle provided
- Please return parking pass from your car before leaving
- No guests staying in apartment without approval from host
- Please be careful not to leave dropped food on the floor and put all trash in the trash can
-Please do not use towels after using a benzoyl peroxide cleanser-- it turns our gray towels orange! Facial cleansing wipes are provided in bathroom cabinet
-Must disclose if anyone traveling is under 21 due to ABC laws
- Let us know if you need anything, we will do our best to accommodate!
Hello! I'm Christy, a social worker living in Richmond with my husband Derek, who is a physical therapist. When not working, we enjoy visiting museums, music (Derek is also a DJ), reading, gaming, and spending time with friends. We have also been working hard to begin sharing our historic home on Airbnb! Though I am a transplant to Richmond (originally from the DC area), I love the beautiful architecture and historic feel of this city, as well as the myriad of things to do. Derek is from Richmond and knows the area well, and we are both happy to give recommendations for anything you'd like to do during your stay. As "helping professionals" we try to anticipate the needs of our visitors and do our best to help them have a great experience here. We hope you'll fall in love with Richmond as we have!
Of course, we love to travel, but rather than see the tourist sights, we prefer to get a sense of what natives to the area love about their chosen city. As guests, we are friendly, respectful, easygoing, and adventurous. However, to be honest, I (Christy) am kind of a total homebody! This definitely influences my hosting style, as I try to create a "home away from home" experience as much as possible for our guests. Though I am a bit more quiet, Derek is very outgoing and is happy to chat anytime he is available. We both look forward to meeting you!
