The apartment is even more beautiful in reality and the pictures are accurate. Entirely renovated and with new kitchenware, practical and handy. No extra stuff or furniture so you have a very good feeling when you enter. The kitchen has the original vintage cupboards and sink, but in a very good state and restored and so are the built-in storage spaces in the rooms - charming and also practical. On each level of the building there are only 2 apartments and the entrance the door locks so no worries about safety.
The area is also perfect - really close to the historical center (15 minutes of slow walk from Monastiraki square if you choose to go on Athinas street for example) and around the flat you find shops, pantry shops, bakery, small supermarkets with all the essentials you need. I saw a comment about the area being unsafe and with drug dealers - dumbest thing i heard, the area around the flat is a pedestrian one and at the ground floors of the buildings are many shops therefor many people around. However it is safe, everybody minds his own business (saw no drug dealers, only working people, customers and passers by), and quiet to sleep. Very close to the metro too and Omonia metro station is very well connected also with the airport train line which we chose to leave (airport trains pass through Syntagma square metro station every 10 minutes - you change trains with no need to reach out to the surface which is very good when you have luggage, and it takes around 30 mins to reach the airport).
The hosts are really warm and nice and make their best to show you everything in the apartment - how to use stuff in case you don't know, with lots of kindness and patience. I asked for extra blankets (i don't deal chill, even the smallest :), for me a room with 22 degrees is cold :) and didn't want to use the heating system for long hours - and Ioannis said no problem. When he came to the apartment i realized he went to IKEA especially and bought comforters and matching sheets !!!!
So i totally recommend this apartment.
TIP on finding the location: on the tourist maps the street is not 100% displayed - only one part is shown with its name, but it is that kind of street which goes on both sides of a main one. When you go from OMONIA metro station choose AG. CONSTANTINOU street and walk on the left side - Koumoundourou street has the small numbers on this side and it begins right from the small square in front of a big neo-classical building (like a temple with columns). you cross this small square and on the left side the second building, with the number 16 clearly displayed on the entrance, awaits for you.
