This is bare-bones, no frills accommodations.
Four of us stayed here for 5 days. Everything in this apartment is from Ikea and nothing is comfortable. The beds were so uncomfortable that two people slept on the sofa. The dining chairs were hard and painful. There is a scratchy jute style rug in the sofa area with tray-like furniture that hurts to put your legs on.
There are no curtains or blinds in the main room and an office building across the narrow street looks right into the apartment. Even without any privacy, the apartment is still dark.
There was only enough hot water to take 2-minute showers. All of the towel holders were stuck to the tiled walls with adhesive and fell off because they couldn't hold the weight of a towel. There was no toilet paper holder. The host left one container of generic hand soap at the bathroom sink and some toilet paper. You will want to bring your own soap and kleenex. If a pin drops in the bathroom, the sound echoes all over the apartment. The floor is not a heated floor, as one of the reviews stated. The lock for the bathroom is a skeleton key.
It is noisy at all hours between tour buses, deliveries, honking taxis, drunk tourists, the kebab/pizza and Indian restaurants, the groups smoking and playing dice in the courtyard, machinery noises and the lack of insulation. We got very little sleep.
It is not a residential area and the building does not have residential amenities. It is grim and unwelcoming with a huge jail-like locked gate whenever the comic store on the first floor is closed. We did not see any other people coming or going from the building and it did not seem that other people lived there. We did not feel altogether safe. This is an old building but one completely devoid of the charm and beauty.
There is no microwave, tea kettle or hair dryer.
There were four duvets and two blankets in the apartment and all were twin sized. The bed pillows were smaller than standard size. A king sized bed with two meager twin sized duvets and two tiny bed pillows is ridiculous.
There is one heating unit in the kitchen area, but nothing in the bedrooms which was another reason to sleep on the sofa.
There were no instruction manuals or safety instructions and the appliance controls were Norwegian. There were no emergency exits and we did not see a fire extinguisher.
The wifi was spotty and went out a lot in the main room. It did not work at all in the bedrooms.
The second bedroom looks like it has two twin beds in the picture but it has a double bed which barely fits in the tiny room.
