We really enjoyed our stay at Alberto's apartment hovering in the upper city of Porto Ercole. It's a great location, super quiet and peaceful, with views of both the hills above and harbor below. There is a church picturesquely perched above, with a beautiful bell that rang only between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m., how civilized! The terrace is large and comfortably furnished for a large group to eat dinner or have drinks, and has room to dry clothes, towels and swimsuits as well. Inside, the beds are very comfortable and the bedrooms cool, because each has its own AC split. Each has a bathroom, and there is a washing machine in one of the bathrooms. The living room has a fireplace, which we didn't use because it was MUCH too hot for that (thanks to the AC, we slept well in spite of this!), two couches, and another comfortable table and chairs. The kitchen is a bit of a tight squeeze but we were able to cook breakfast and dinner with no problem--the stove is so powerful it boils a big pot for pasta in a couple of minutes, and there was a larger than standard refrigerator, and freezer, too. Be prepared that parking is a bit of a hike and that there are many stairs and ramps up to the apartment. This was no problem for us at all, but it would not be best for anyone with a mobility impairment. Enjoy!
