A beautiful spacious house in Oughterard, Co Galway, this village is known as the gateway to Connemara, nestling a mere 25kms from Galway City on the shores of Lough Corrib. From the pier a boat trip goes to Ashford Castle stopping at Inchagoill Island enroute.
The double room sleeps two with ensuite bathroom. It has tea/coffee facilities, a microwave and fridge. The house overlooks the Owenriff River. Its a short drive to Kylemore Abbey, Connemara National Park or the coral beach Carraroe.

There are smoke and CM detectors installed for safety. There is ample parking at the front of the house. The house is a few minutes walk to the quaint village which has many restaurants, shops, take away's and Irish bars. The Owenriff River runs in front of the house known for Pearl Mussels and Salmon. It runs into Lough Corrib close which is popular for fishing. The Oughterard Golf Club is a few miles out of the village near the famous 16th century Aughnanure Castle.

The house although minutes from the bustling village, is in a quiet cul-de-sac overlooking the river walk, which takes you to the centre of the village. There is a large green in front of the house. The local Catholic and Protestant churches are but a stroll away, as is the local corner shop Mc Namaras, otherwise known as Conor's. There are many beautiful walks around Oughterard.
There is the Bus Eireann bus service from Clifden to Galway or Citylink bus from Clifden to Galway passing through here.

This amazing village hosts a variety of wonderful establishments to eat and be merry. It is famous for Lough Corrib and many fisherman flock here for Mayfly season. It is a mere 25 min drive to Galway which has many festivals over the year. The ferry leaving for the Aran Islands is 40 mins away and the Ashford Castle ferry leaves from the pier daily in summer season. For those liking a challenge a hike up Maimean is a must or those a bit more adventurous perhaps kayaking in Recess or hiking to the top of Diamond Hill in Connemara National Park, the view makes it all worth while but bring a packed lunch and some water. The Quiet Man Bridge and the Glengowla Mines are two must see attractions for visitors to Oughterard as they are only a few kms out the N59.
