This is a very spacious, open-plan and private ground floor apartment in an 1890 brownstone, located in historic Stuyvesant Heights, 20 minutes from Manhattan on the A-line subway. The thoughtfully laid out apartment consists of a queen-sized bed, professional chef's kitchen, large dining table, bathroom with shower and soaking bathtub. Modern amenities meet historic charm.

The house features original, well-preserved architectural details including decorative fireplaces, parquet floors, original plasterwork, painted exposed brick and tin ceiling. It is tastefully and comfortably decorated while blending old and new.

There is a garden off the kitchen, available for guests, as well as a small front green space. We share the garden in the back.

Stuyvesant Heights is accessible via subway from the JFK airport, and is a 20 minute drive by taxi (35 min from La Guardia airport).

This historic neighborhood features an authenticity like no other part of New York City (local businesses, restored brownstones, and no high-rises), yet includes the necessary amenities such as laundry mats, organic grocery stores, wine shops, galleries, schools, cafes, bars, and critically acclaimed restaurants.

7. The owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The Homeowners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.

10. Pets are NOT allowed.
11. Housekeeping: There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate.
12. Garbage: Any garbage must be stowed in the proper garbage or recycling receptacle, located in the kitchen and at the front of the house.
13. Fireplace: The fireplace is non-operable and decorative only.
14. Water and Sewer: DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products should be flushed at anytime. [If it is found that feminine products have been flushed and clog the septic system, you could be charged damages of up to $300.00.]

Hallo Peter und Edwin, danke noch mal, dass wir eure Wohnung nutzen konnten. Peter hat uns nett begrüßt und wir haben gestaunt, dass er mit uns deutsch sprechen konnte. Die Wohnung ist sehr gut eingerichtet und ausgestaltet, bequem und ausgesprochen ruhig. Nach einem erlebnisreichen Tag in der City konnten wir uns gut ausruhen. Ein bißchen hat uns ein Schrank zum Auspacken unserer Sachen gefehlt, da wir für 10 Tage einiges an Bekleidung dabei hatten. Die Nachbarschaft ist angenehm und freundlich. In der Umgebung befinden sich viele Möglichkeiten , Lebensmitteln zu kaufen. Peter und Edwin haben uns gut mit Informationen versorgt, wie wir die Wohnung am besten erreichen können. Die Wohnung liegt strategisch gut, um New York zu erkunden. In wenigen Minuten erreicht man die U-Bahnstation. Mit den Linien A und C sind viele Ziele direkt erreichbar. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und können die Wohnung nur empfehlen. Liebe Grüße Uta und Uwe

Brooklyn is quite different to Manhatten. We liked it. Some of the food retailers are average... make the trip to a whole foods market if you want to eat well. Manhatten eadily reachable...9 min walk and 30 mins on the A train. The appartment is well equipped and a good place to rest after partying and sight seeing. loved it

We had a fantastic few days in Edwin's apartment. We had spent six nights in Manhattan immediately prior to our stay in Bed-Stuy but Brooklyn felt like a much more authentic (and therefore enjoyable) New York experience. A place you probably won't find in a guide book, and all the better for it. The apartment was a good base and easy to get around New York - we went to Williamsburg, Coney Island, Manhattan, Greenpoint etc. The neighbourhood was great, beautiful buildings, plenty of bars, restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. We ate and drank our way through many of the recommendations in the guest book - Saraghina was a real gem, we had a lovely dinner there in the courtyard, we also loved Peaches for brunch and Bar Lunatico for drinks. The apartment itself is spacious and beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed. It was a bonus to have use of the back garden too. Check in was super-smooth and Edwin was really flexible and accommodating with our needs. We would definitely recommend it!

The place was amazing. Super comfortable and was great spot to come back to after a long day of adventuring the city. Wish it could of been a little bit closer to downtown since we went down there everyday and was kind of a pain to quickly go back home to drop off bigger items or change clothes. Other than that though it was an awesome pad!!
