The wife and I are now offering free sightseeing trip(s), guided tour(s) and/or free meals, included with minimum stays. I have many years experience as a licensed chauffeur, ride-share driver, event-host and local travel/trip planner.
The wife and I both have been with the entertainment and outdoor recreation/travel industry for a good share of our long lives. Currently, we're both are in our 60's and have many tales to tell but, only if you have a lending ear, or two or three.
My wife and I are considered adventures as well as historians. We constantly hear: "Wow, you guys have done everything". We really have done much and have seen quite a bit, being as we have 100 years experience, between the two of us touring the West Coast of the United States as extremely curious Southern Californians of the outdoor type. Because of that, you'll experience places you've never dreamed of, let alone existed. The option is yours, available to you, to learn of historical and fascinating, mostly fun-facts that you probably would not have come across from any other source unless you knew beforehand, exactly what to look for.
In our own unique way, we have the ability, and the will to cater to your most desired interest.
Whether you prefer doing the "touristy-tour" or the unadvertised really fun stuff the "normal" locals do or the wild, the exotic, the "once-in-a-lifetime" hardly-known stuff that 90% of the locals are unaware of - we can, and will happily be your private guides!
Whether it be Hollywood, Santa Monica, Long Beach, Disneyland Resort, Knott's Berry Farm or some of the 20, or so other theme parks of Southern California. Whether it be a weekend daytime experience to a huge indoor/outdoor 3-band biker-bar that's hidden out in the hills with hundreds of earth shaking Harley's or you may want to experience a murder-mystery dinner-party theater with audience participation or an exclusive engagement to a coat 'n' tie, exclusive, "Members & Guests Only" to the world famous "Magic Castle" of Hollywood and dine with some of the worlds greatest illusionists or enjoy a free guest-pass admission to the city of Irwindale Speedway's "Night of Destruction" where you will witness the worlds only automobile "Skid-Plate" race as well as the largest demolition of RVs (motorhomes, campers, trailers) etc.
Caution: You WILL run out of video memory on your iPhone at this insanely hilarious event!
Just a "heads-up" - Irwindale Speedway's "night of Destruction" derby only happens 5 times this year. Check online for the correct dates.

The wife and I own this cozy little house in this clean, middle-class neighborhood.
Our house has been owned by our family since it was purchased new, in 1946.
The wife and I have lived in it, ourselves, since 2003.
We are fortunate in many respects. First of all, we have the best neighborhood you could imagine. We love our neighbors. They're the the best in the West. We exchange Christmas and birthday gifts with them.
Our neighbors are all super friendly to our AIRbnb guests. They all are families who have been homeowners in the neighborhood for an average of 27 years. One could not ask for better neighbors! Please, be respectful of them as they surly will of you. Give ‘em a friendly smile and a wave. Let them know you are friendly, as well.
If you are driving, please try to park directly in front of our house. Out of respect, our neighbors usually try to leave a space open for our guests - if at all possible. If you cannot find a space directly in front of our house, just give me a call and I will move my car around back and you can have my space.

Street sweeping parking restriction:
Do not park across our street on Mondays between the hours of 10 AM and 1 PM.
Do not park on our side of the street between the hours of 10 AM and 1 PM Tuesdays.
The citation is just shy of $50.

Probably the next best thing about our location is the climate in this particular section (The Gardena Valley) of Los Angeles county. It is cooler in the summertime, than most of the rest of the Los Angeles area. We're very fortunate in that here in the South Bay Area we experience a very nice, mid-afternoon sea-breeze and sunshine in the early morning hours, opposed to the overcast mornings that are so common to the areas closer to the beach.
Thirdly, the proximity of our home to the best attractions that Southern California has to offer. We live in the center of it all of it! - just minutes from LAX but not in the noisy flight path.

Our space is in the absolute best proximity, to all southern California attractions. We are centrally located, directly between Disneyland and Hollywood, between Knotts Berry Farm and Universal Studios, between the Hollywood Sign and the best beaches in California. In fact we are only 10 minutes from world-famous Redondo Beach which is next to Hermosa Beach which borders Manhattan Beach. Each one with their own world-famous pier which stretches out over the water. We are five minutes away from Larry Flints newly purchased Lady Luck Casino and 5 min from his world-famous Hustler Casino both located right here, in the city of Gardena. Incidentally the Casino food is not bad for the price, either. sometimes we just go there to eat. We are only 12 miles from downtown Los Angeles. We are only a 20 to 30 minute ride from the Santa Monica Pier which is at the foot of Route 66 and famous Venice Beach (or "Muscle Beach") with its Boardwalk and Venice canals.

If you need transportation, we will gladly drive you anywhere your heart desires for a reasonable fee . Your host is a licensed, professional ride-share chauffeur with a perfect driving record. Please see "getting around".

More about the neighborhood:
It's just recently been upgraded with a full-on supermarket, less than a block away. Even closer is a movie theater, a gourmet Italian restaurant, a gourmet coffee shop, a postal service business, a pizza house and within two minutes you can walk to, which is my favorite, a large discount variety store where nothing cost more than a dollar and across the street is a small Mexican restaurant. There's even food trucks and a fresh fruit stand just minutes walking distance.
From our house, you never have to walk more than one block to have everything you need to live comfortably.

Interaction with guests, or not, is totally up to the individual guest. We don't live in the house ourselves and normally don't use the facilities of the house because we have our own RV just out back that we live in. We are conveniently close but we're not hovering over you. We can usually tell when our guests want privacy or not but, if you want to make sure that we know that you prefer privacy, just speak up.

We can drive you around but it wont be free. It WILL be worth every penny, though, especially with both of us as your tour guides.

We hear from our guests that our rates are low for all that's provided including the safety and convenience of the area were in. Keeping our guests happy encourages them to return a second, third and fourth time and even stay long term.
Before we give the "okay" for a person to reside with my wife and myself, on our property and in our home, I always read about how they describe theirselves and/or check the reviews of their previous hosts. We do not employ "instant booking" because the wife and I are of a particular breed and desire to have honorable guests that prefer and respect our choice of a little extra fine-filtering. Although, we are obviously not prejudice, as you can obviously see by the history and feedback of us by our previous guests, the quality of our guests is important for peace and tranquility. We only desire guests that respect us and other guests.
Also, I would like to emphasize that this is a "house-share" and not a hotel, nor is it a Motel 6, as the one down the street where a person is charged up to and at times, over $100, per person, per night. There is no maid service. Everyone pulls their own weight and cleans up after their self in a timely manor and in respect to others.
Please, leave the kitchen and bathroom as you found them, or, better yet, as we were taught, as kids, in "scouts"; "leave the place as clean, or cleaner than you found it".
In the bathroom, please wipe down the water spots, at least on the one sliding door and wipe-up the loose hairs anywhere you see them.

We can usually answer an inquiry within minutes, unless we're out driving or in a deep sleep and can't hear the text notifier sound off.

Please note, to accepted guests: there is a $20 cash deposit for the keys and is refundable upon return of the keys.

All guests must be at least 21 years of age.
Strict checkout time is 11AM. Guests may hang outback by the barbecue but I need 2-3 hours to clean the room before our next guest arrives. Also I need time to defrost the mini-fridge, clean and dry the carpet and wash the bedding, before the arrival of our next guests that may be here as early as 1 o'clock.
Sorry, I can not accommodate any person with a disability. We have uneven surfaces and narrow passageways around the property. Not practical for a wheelchair or walker.
Guests need to remove shoes before entering the house.
Guests may use a second, clean-soled pair of shoes or sandals/slippers (for inside-only-use) if desired. I, myself just walk around the inside of the house in my socks.
If guests take the kitchen-use option they need to wash, dry and put all eating utensils back in the drawer or cupboard, in a timely manner or simply use the paper-ware and plasticware (provided by me) and toss them in the trash when finished.
The somewhat clean, used plastic and paper ware products go into the recycling can.

We do not provide maid service. You are the maid. Please respect others by cleaning up after yourself.

Please leave the kitchen and the bathroom just as you found them when you first walked in to the room.
Please do not leave splashed water or hair lying around the bathroom including the shower stall. Make sure you check for loose hairs left on the floor, the washbasin etc.
Use the paper towel's or rags that are provided to dry any lingering water then dispose of them in the proper containers. Please put water-spot rags in the clothes dryer on hot for 20 minutes as with the bathmat or the large towel that is used for the bathmat.
A damp paper towel works great to pick up loose hair.
Clean up after yourself, leave the kitchen and bathroom as you found them, before you started to use them, please.

This is not a hotel - you are sharing a private home and responsibilities, thus, the lower rate for residing here.

The refundable key deposit is $20. If a key is unreturned at check-out the locks will be changed and the locksmith charge is $200. That is one reason for your $200 room deposit with AIRbnb.
There will be a mandatory I.D. check upon guests arrival! We do not allow unbooked/unregistered guests on the property, violation leads to immediate nullification of the booking and loss of the $200. deposit.

It's really shame that the minor details must be listed but, this has been an ongoing problem since we've started this adventure.

The bottom line is....have the utmost respect for others sharing this home.
The rules need not be memorized if one would just use basic. common sense.

Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt bei Gary. Er ist super nett und kann einem immer Ratschläge geben über Ausflüge. Zudem hab es 2x "Kuchen für alle" während meines Aufenthaltes. Was gibt es besseres? ;) Es ist perfekt für kürzere oder längere Aufenthalte. Grundnahrungsmittel stehen für alle Gäste (3 Zimmer) kostenfrei bereit, was super ist! Und der Mini-Kühlschrank im Zimmer war Gold wert! Nur das Bad hätte ein wenig sauberer sein können meiner Meinung nach. Alles andere war super! :)

Gary und Gail sind wirklich tolle Gastgeber! Ich habe mich sofort wie zuhause gefühlt und würde jederzeit wieder kommen! Gary war immer erreichbar und sofort zur Stelle, wenn ich etwas brauchte UND er hat uns regelmäßig mit Kuchen und anderen Köstlichkeiten versorgt - vielen Dank nochmal dafür! Die Lage ist wirklich gut - ich habe mit dem Rad etwa 40min zum Strand nach Manhattan Beach gebraucht. Auch die Haltestellen der Busse sind in nur 2 Gehminuten erreichbar!! Vielen Dank für das tolle Monat bei euch!!!

Gary was very nice and always responded very quickly to any messages I sent. I certainly understand why he is a "superhost" -- absolutely well deserved! In addition, the room was quite spacious and comfortable. The desk and refrigerator in the room were great bonus amenities as well! I would highly recommend this place.

I recommend 100% to stay here for short or long term!! I stayed here for 1 month and it honestly felt like I was still at home. Shops, restuarants, fast food and more just minutes walk away from this location also a short drive to DTLA and LAX!! You could not find a better place for value and location in Airbnb than this. Thank you Gary and Gail!! Will definitely return

Gary was a great host. Remember you are sharing the bathroom with roommates. It's not the Hilton and you are getting what you paid for in accommodations. The bedroom was extremely clean. I didn't use the kitchen much but it was clean. Bathroom kept clean. Backyard was full of stuff. Don't plan on sitting outside if you expect a lawn or something. Just go to the beach about a 20 minute drive. Great host!!!

I've been enjoying life for 69 years and plan on enjoying the next 69. I'm adventurous and so is my lady of 17 years. We love our 3 feline children. We love our motorhome because that's our ticket to adventures, and our Harley 'cause that's our ticket to excitement, and freedom.
We, both like the Big Island (Hawaii).
We both like Mexico and that's just a hop, skip and a jump away. We go down there to relax, toke on Cuban stogies and to cuddle lion cubs. Ask to see the video. A little lioness is so darn cute. She'll melt your heart.
Once I've (we've) hosted, you'll be spoiled forever, especially if you let us be your tour guides for a day, or more. It will be an entertaining and memorable experience, especially if you're on a tight budget!
