It was a nice, cosy place to stay. Sharon was really nice and gave us advice, where to go and what to see. She was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the beds were very comfy. The location was great to walk around the city.

Sharon's room and bathroom are beautifully decorated in the shabby chic style. One can tell that she has attempted to provide a quaint and comfortable experience for her guests, however the reality is not that due to the other tenants who live in the house. There are several semi-long term residents it seems, most of whom are undergraduate students, living in the house. During our stay, there was a lot of noise both nights including a very loud party with people yelling and stomping that woke us up at 11 pm and that Sharon had to come over and shut down. The smells from people cooking in the kitchen are simply awful and permeate the whole house, including the room. There are also smells of people smoking outside the kitchen (both cigarettes and other) that prevent you from opening the window as the smell enters the room immediately. The kitchen was a mess with food and dirty dishes left all over the place and food all over the floor. The fridge was full of smelly old food and the place is completely unusable. The house itself is beautiful and would be a wonderful place to stay if it didn't function as a kind of dorm for undergraduates, which is what it felt like.

Comfortable room in a well-located older house. A bit snug for 3 people (it's more ideal for 2), and there no drawers or closet to keep clothes (there are a few wall hooks and 2 or 3 hangers), but it's a solid choice if you're mainly looking for a place to rest at night and a shared kitchen where you can sit and eat.

We stayed here for three nights during our stay in Charlottetown. The location is perfect as it is a short walk to everything to will want to see. It's a great spot for any travellers who enjoy the more hostel style accommodation as there are multiple rooms upstairs in the house and a shared kitchen downstairs.

You get what you pay for. Our bedroom and (semi private) bathroom was, indeed, "shabby chic". The bathroom was ours, but was located just outside our room, the only thing making it 'private' was a curtain between the door and the rest of the upstairs area. It did not lock so we didn't feel we could leave our toiletries inside when we were away. At least our room was clean, good-smelling, and fresh for us. The smaller bed was very hard, although the larger one was quite pleasant. The rest of the house was not so nice. The house is essentially a boarding house, with other occupants seeming to be living there on a semi longer term basis. There is no common area other than the kitchen - which was not a place you would want to hang out in. The kitchen was filthy, with dirty dishes in the sink and fruit flies everywhere - to the point that there was a strip of fly paper hanging over the garbage. It smelled unpleasantly, of different foreign cuisines being prepared and then left on the counter to attract bugs. This is not Sharon's fault, so much as the other guests, but it was gross nonetheless. The rest of the house had paint cans and other "upkeep" materials shoved under tables or behind doors. The front door was never closed or locked despite us closing it tightly when we entered or left. Other tenants seemed not to care and the door was often wide open. The outside of the house is definitely more 'shabby' than 'chic', and the street itself is a bit run down. The location is nice - within walking distance of the wharf and of the main downtown area on Queen St. Unfortunately, I don't think I can recommend staying here.
