Thank you so much,
The Blue Lake Jewel is a quaint home fully and newly remodeled with brand new linens, dishes and furniture. The back deck has a patio set and bbq., lovely place to take in the mountain air and admire the beautiful pine trees. There is also a wooden patio set in the backyard with a swing for your use. The Tiny Cabin on the back of the property is occupied on occasion by the owner along with a very old sweet and friendly black lab.
The Blue Lake Jewel is located in quaint Tahoe Vista of the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. There is a beautiful forest to stroll through just behind the house in our neighborhood.
Here on the North Shore we have lots of public beach access which is so wonderful for walks and playtime on the beach.
The Blue Lake Jewel is walking distance ( two blocks) from the Tahoe Vista Beach/Marina. It is also within walking distance to the Tahoe Vista Park which has: Disc Golf, hiking trails, picnic areas, soccer and baseball fields, and a cross county ski area in the winter season and an extensive jungle gym for the kids.
The post office is right on the corner if you need to send a letter or postcard to a friend. Safeway foods is maybe 2 miles on North Lake Blvd. in Kings Beach.
Your are a 5 min drive to to either Kings Beach or Carnelian Bay in the other direction. My favorite restaurant is the Cedar Glen Lodge (reservations recommended) which is a 1 min drive or a 10 min stroll.
It is centrally located to other towns and average times to reach them is 5-20 mins. Centrally located to the numerous ski resorts as well 20-30 mins drive.
There is also a local bus stop at the corner if you'd like to take public transportation.
We hope you thoroughly relax and rejuvenate or charge hard athletically or (URL HIDDEN) your heart desires.
Enjoy your stay in our quaint home.
Zugang für Gäste
As a guest, you have access to the whole house. There is a very tiny cabin in the back of the property that is occasionally occupied by the owner.
Welcome to the Blue Lake Jewel.
Please respectfully follow these house rules. Thank you very much.
Parking is on either/both sides of the house.
The "ski locker" is the closet located on the east side of the house, exterior to the home. Absolutely no athletic equipment is allowed inside of the home. This includes : bikes, skis, snowboards, poles, beach strollers, baseball bats, etc. Ski boots are of course fine placed on the boot trays.
For larger items I suggest bringing a bike lock and cable and attach your equipment to a tree in the back yard.
Please recognize quiet time from 11 p.m. to 7a.m. as there are full time residents next door.
POTS AND PANS: The pots and pans are HAND WASH ONLY. They are NOT dishwasher safe.
DO NOT use "oil spray" like Pam. It will damage the surface of the pots and pans.
Please wash, dry and put away all dishes and cookware prior to you departure.
Please leave all water main valves as you found them, "on".
Please leave the living room thermostat as you found it, "on".
Place garbage in the "bear bin" upon departure. It is the "artistic looking" box in the front yard.
Always remember that you are in a wild life area.
Here at the Blue Lake Jewel we have NEVER had a problem with attracting wildlife to or into the house because we ALL abide by these respectful guidelines.
Please assist in helping our wildlife to stay free and safe by following these guidelines. There are bear, coyote, raccoon, chipmunk, bird, etc. in our neighborhood. The motto is and is unfortunately true, "A fed Bear is a DEAD Bear".
NEVER LEAVE FOOD IN YOUR VEHICLE. Keep the windows of your car rolled up when you are not in it.
Do not leave coolers outside even if their empty. Bears have learned to recognize them as a "goodie box" and will approach to investigate.
The bbq on the back deck: I'm told by the Bear League that bears aren't interested in the bbq. However, please practice cleaning off the bbq with the wire brush immediately after cooking on it. This will also help keep bees away.
Please keep all windows and doors locked on the ground floor when leaving the house. When allowed easy access, bears have been known to enter a house because of delicious smells .
Again, we have never had a problem as all of the guests have adhered to these simple guidelines. I Thank you very much for doing the same.
Please hang up ALL wet towels prior to departure.
No need to strip sheets and linens from beds upon departure.
Heating: To adjust the temperature of the gas stove fireplace in the living room simply push the "up" or "down" arrow located on the thermostat that is on the wall next to the mirror and wine rack. Please do not touch any other controls on the thermostat.
In the bedrooms: each room has a "virtual fireplace".
To adjust the temperature in a bedroom, simply "turn" the dial of the thermostat located on the wall behind the bedroom door.
Because the house is so well insulated, the bedrooms heat up VERY QUICKLY !
Please, DO NOT OPEN the skylight in the brick bedroom.
It is for EMERGENCY EXIT ONLY.
It is very heavy and previous guests have unfortunately caused damage to it in the past.
Under each cabinet of each sink there is a "toe kick" heater. It is located where your "toes" are when standing at the sink to wash.
Each of them has been temperature adjusted already.
If you find the need to adjust one of them, there is a thermostat dial right on the heater itself.
Please lock all doors upon departure and return keys to the key lock box.
I thank you for your attention and adherence to these "House Rules".
Have a wonderful stay at the Blue Lake Jewel.
