Santorini C Villa is close to Fira (5 minutes driving time from Fira center, 2 minutes walking time from its own little-known beach and 3 minutes driving time from the organised beach of Ekso Yalos of Fira). Built on its own land, it has a patio and surrounding space. All rooms have views to the sea. It is very cool during summer, private and nicely decorated. You can literally hear the sound of the waves! It is suitable for couples, individual travellers, as well as families with children.
Santorini C Villa is a private, autonomous island home located on the back side of capital town Fira, on the secluded beach of Ekso Gialos (Kanakari beach). It is a 40m2 cozy little cottage with traditional built-in cob furniture, sitting on its own spacious property, just a 3-minute walk from a very private pebbly beach. ON THE SAME PROPERTY IS THE OWNER'S RESIDENCE , A SEMI-DETACHED ARRANGEMENT , NEXT TO THE MAIN BUILDING.
Its main advantage is that it combines fast and easy access to the capital town of Fira (it is only a 5-minute drive from its center) and the peace and quiet of a village.
Santorini C Villa enjoys the views and sounds of the Aegean Sea, as it is so close to the waterfront! The guests can see the islands of Ios, Small Cyclades and Amorgos (among other smaller islands on a clear day) from the spacious patio, the kitchen/ sitting room and the traditional bedroom. The patio around the house is always cool and shady depending on the course of the sun – find your spot and enjoy the surrounding nature! You can have your breakfast, lunch, dinner, your coffee or a smoothie while looking at the Aegean Sea and the remnants of the old tomato factory of Kanakaris that lent its name to the secluded beach below Santorini C Villa.
The villa enjoys peace and quiet throughout the day. Quiet nights allow the guests to enjoy the sounds of the soft wind, the breaking waves, the...“resident” owl. A pair of bats, grazing horses in the distance and the soft cracking of the tamarisk tree next to the patio accompany this unique choir. :-)
The north-west side and kitchen window of the house have a view of the beautiful fields of the island (believe it or not, these can get quite green depending on the time of the year) which often “host” a lonely, grazing donkey, the iconic animal of the island or the horses of local people!
There are two more areas on the property. You will find a picnic table and two benches on the lower level close to the house entrance; both areas are not shaded so -unless you wish to have a super tan- it is better to go there early in the morning or in late afternoon!
On your way to Santorini C Villa from Fira, you will drive through fields and vineyards with views of grazing horses and of the sea as you get closer. Keep your senses open!

The guests may visit all areas of the property, except THE OWNER'S PRIVATE SPACE, separated distinctly by a wooden door on the patio area and a small iron door to the right of the main entrance.

A few words about the island, that apply to Santorini C Villa as well! :-)
TAP WATER IS NOT DRINKABLE - we all use bottled water to drink and cook with. Please, remember to use bottled water if you need ice cubes! Some areas have a central water system but, for the most part, every home, hotel unit, etc. has its own water tank that is filled regularly by special vehicles called "hydrofores" in Greek! Santorini C Villa's built water tank is cleaned yearly - the most recent thorough cleaning having taken place one month ago. The water in it is properly chlorinated for protection against germs according to the professional advice of the person who provides the house with water and the pharmacist who provides the appropriate quantity of chlorine. As the water on the island is such a rare commodity, you are encouraged to use it with caution and respect! :)
Another word of caution has to do with the use of toilets; please, remember NEVER TO THROW TOILET PAPER or any other paper, pads, etc. IN THE TOILET because this may cause a blockage problem but also because in Greece we do not flushing as a way of garbage disposal. There are trash bins right next to the toilet which you should use to this end.
There is a medical cabinet in the bathroom with all basic necessities. In the event of a more serious medical issue, I am available 24/7 for assistance, transportation to Santorini's public or private medical center, etc.
In the house there is also a safe where you may keep your documents and valuables. I will give you instructions about its operation but there is also a card with instructions on the safe.
One more thing! In Santorini C Villa, we RECYCLE! :-) If you are up to it, you may put the recyclable materials (glass, plastic, aluminium and paper) in a separate bag which I will personally collect to carry your recyclables and mine to the allotted blue dumpsters found in designated spots throughout the island. Of course you may do this yourselves if you so wish or you may opt out of any recycling activity if this is not something you would like to have in mind while vacationing! I personally recycle anyway, so it will not be a problem for me to collect your bag along with mine!
Finally! There are STRONG WINDS on the island and at Santorini C Villa, as this house stands on its own property and so close to the beach. Please, be CAREFUL with open windows, shutters and doors! Make sure you SECURE them (I have installed latches everywhere) to avoid accidents! :-)
I hope you have a wonderful stay at my house and our beloved island!
Guests are kindly requested to be cautious of and respect the following:
(a) towels are not to be used to wipe off or remove make-up, hair-dyes, sunscreen or other substances that leave permanent stains. Laundries on the island do not treat such stains so the towels cannot be re-used and the guest will have to be charged for the purchase of new ones
(b) please remember to turn off lights and other appliances before you leave the house for your daily trips and exploration of the island
(c) finally, a word of caution about water: water is a rare and precious commodity on the island of Santorini, hence the limited existence of a central watering system. Santorini C Villa has its own water tank to cover the needs of the guests and, by all means, guests should feel comfortable using it. However, it would be best to be cautious about its use, which means avoid letting the water run continuously for a long time.
Thank you for your understanding and I hope you have a perfect time staying at Santorini C Villa and enjoying our beautiful island!
