Step into a Scandinavian-styled, magazine worthy home in the heart of Wicker Park. Choose from one of two beautiful guest rooms, each with a private bathroom on main floor separate from master bedroom. Share access to glorious kitchen, a dreamy living/dining area, and breathtaking rooftop deck.
Designed by the homeowner and her father, this condo is modern from the outside, but decorated with an appreciation for warm / rich colors and textures.
The condo is equipped with smart home technology throughout including voice-activated main lights and thermostat, and Amazon Echo in the kitchen. With 2600 sq.ft. on two levels, this Penthouse condo will feel like a private getaway. Rooftop deck / view is second to none. Street parking is readily available.
- Host and her husband stay in the home on the second level. Guests do not get the home to themselves.
-Listing price is for one room. If a party of 2 requests to stay in two different rooms, then it's an additional $40/night to rent the second room.
Parties of 2 can choose from one of two guest rooms:
The "Marigold Suite" is a second master bedroom, with a pillow-top bed, a huge en suite spa-level bathroom, and a large private deck. Guests have a dedicated closet and a work desk with a vanity mirror for getting ready. This room also has a smart tv and miniature Amazon Echo with voice controls.
The "Nordic Cocoon" is a cozy bedroom with rich colors and fabrics, perfect for anyone wanting a retreat. Room has a cool 50's valet chair and a closet with a dresser as well. This room has a private full bathroom right next to it.
Parties of four are also welcome, however the listed price increases for the 3rd and 4th guests for access to the second room.
Families with children are also welcome - I have two pack 'n plays as well as a few toys from when nieces and nephews visit.
The two guest rooms, kitchen, and living/dining room are on main level, basically giving you the whole floor. My husband and I spend most of our time on the upper level where there is another living room, work space, and our master bedroom. The two levels create a feeling of separation despite a shared set of stairs inside the condo.

My husband and I are very friendly ppl and would be happy to show you around or give you recommendations for great things to see / do. We have a few great books and puzzle map of Chicago for guests. I'm also reachable by text for any questions if I'm not home.
In general, we leave our guests in peace to relax, enjoy the space, and see the city. We also work a lot so you will often have the place to yourself. :)
However, our 25-lb cat (The Hip-hop-opotamus) may try to cuddle you and will certainly tell you lies about the amount of food we give him. Your life and your stay will inevitably be much easier though if you're willing to give him cuddles or scratches. :)
Weitere wichtige Infos

Also, we have two cats. Please don't book if you are concerned about allergies.

I love my home but I love sharing it with others even more. Please treat the spaces as you would your own home.
A few easy guidelines:
• guests of marigold room must be appropriately quiet between 11 pm - 7 am as our neighbor's bedroom is directly below (no stomping or loud music, otherwise general noise is fine)
• please do not use the pizza oven without instructions from us first
• smoking is only permissible on marigold deck or roof but dispose of butts appropriately
• no parties or additional guests without request first (but we usually say 'no problem!')
The poetics of spaces are important to me. I love to create and be in spaces that speak to my soul. As I've gotten older, this tends to manifest in me being drawn to anything rustic or woodsy, though not too campy. :) I love the Scandinavian style of minimalism that also embraces nature. My Finnish background is probably the root of this.
Recently I started a home redesign company with my dad based out of Detroit. We help people recreate their dream spaces with a few inspiration photos and reclaimed materials. It's a fun side job for me, but my dad's full-time dream job. In my real life, I work in philanthropy and help education organizations with external affairs.
My partner and I love to travel almost as much as we love to host friends and family in our dream home. We tend to make friends out of strangers instantly so Airbnb is second nature to us. :)
