My place is close to Ohinemuri River, Parks, Waihi Beach, Hauraki Rail Trail, art and culture, restaurants and dining, Karangahake Gorge, and has a lovely outlook. You’ll love my place because of the cosiness, the quiet, the family atmostphere, the country surrounds but with a short walk to town .
We live in a 1930's villa that was moved onto the site in the late 1980's so it is North facing (unlike many original NZ homes that are South facing). It is on a big section and I like to keep a garden complete with worm farm, compost and edible weeds (we have never used spray here). We have a fireplace going in winter so it is warm, and the sun comes through the dining room window in the afternoon.
Zugang für Gäste
You can access the kitchen, bathroom and if you want to exit out the back door to the garden you can.
Weitere wichtige Infos
There is no Wifi at my place I am sorry.
Please use the recycling bucket (in cupboard under the kitchen sink).
I would appreciate it if you didn't spray a lot of perfume/chemical sprays around the room.
** Please note for directions - maps still have the old address in system which is 108 Rosemont Road - this is the same as 88 Montrose Rd. Sorry for the confusion!
I am a mother of 2 - Ari 7 (he's also known as Flynn some days) and Sophia 4, I am active in Playcentre (a wonderful parent-led Early Childhood Co-operative) & passionate about Natural Learning. I also work part-time as a Natural Therapist with special area interest in Rongoa or Maori Medicine, Vibrational healing with NZ Flower Essences and Homeopathy. I practice yoga & am into nutrition and healthy living :-) I'm also sorta practical, down to earth and not as wafty woo as all that might sound! I love music, I make music & play locally too, love being outside and bushwalking ..or being on the beach with bare feet, I love snowboarding (when I get the chance), looking at the world through the eyes of my children, being around positive happy & creative people. I am trying my hand at scriptwriting at present too.. We totally welcome families here - we are a family and completely understand how it is with kids. On that note, please don't expect sterile spic n span, you are sharing the house with our family. :-)
I loved Thailand and Rarotonga, I'm pretty busy with real life and doing stuff so I don't watch many movies but the last one I had a good giggle at was 'Hunt for the Winderpeople' a Taika Waititi film - I have a real fondness for kiwi humour and ..for that matter humour in general.
My style of Air bnb hosting..? I'd like to think I'd treat you as a human being, be real, be present to your needs, keep out of your way when needed and help you find your way to the next place - happy to give you local and not so local tips too I have been through much of NZ.
I'm so sorry I have made a conscious choice not to have WiFi in my house while my children are developing as I don't trust that it is the best environment for our cells. Sorry for the inconvenience..
If you have any health issues I probably won't be able to hold back on offering you some natural health advice I might have absorbed, I am also passionate about a range of NZ Made wild crafted creams etc I sell called We Love Rongoa - check it out online. Makes a lovely gift or something to take home from lil' Aotearoa - and you can't buy it in the shops!
Food - if its fresh, consciously made, harvested or grown I'm into it! I am a conscious consumer and love food. I won't lecture you I promise. I am a mum so am in the kitchen ..well a lot. It always helps to be inspired and depending on how busy the day's been (if you are arriving I was probably busy sorting your room etc ha) I usually end up making something pretty quality as I try to avoid processed food and additives so wholefoods and fermented foods are where its at for me. I'll make room in my fridge and you can eat whatever you like. I would prefer if you didn't cook meat in my kitchen but its not a big deal if you forget or for some (interesting?) reason really have to, the rest of my family eat meat so I'm used to it. Oh and being Earth aware and reducing rubbish is a top priority for me so please just ask to use one of my reusable bags to go to the supermarket and please use the recycling bucket under the sink wherever possible. I'm sure if you're travelling this beautiful planet you feel the same and understand why! :-)
