Its a beautiful place- greatly furnished , super clean and looks like everything is new in it (higher standards ) in the quiet zone of Cohimar just a bus ride from the Havana center and close to east cost beaches. We had a scooter and the Javier's family helped us to keep it safe during all our stay which was extremely helpful. The apt is spacious and you have a big patio with the ocean view(and all you can possibly need for your stay). The whole family was very helpful and super kind ,we were welcomed with fresh mango juice and coffee. They helped us with everything we needed. I will definitely recommend it to anyone for short or longer stay.Great lovely people!!!
I don't think I can put together the words needed to express how amazing my stay with Javier and his family was. They became my family and I have a homesick kind of feeling when I remember my stay. Towards the end of my stay, I developed a fever and Maria (Javier’s mother) took care of me like my own mother would. Getting sick was not the highlight of my trip to Cuba, however I think it signifies how caring our hosts were. My girlfriend and I stayed for 12 nights with Javier in Cojimar, a quiet fishing town just outside Old Havana. They showed us how to navigate the bus system to various destinations and it was very easy (and cheap at only 1.67 cents per person when converted to USD, compared to a taxi that could run as high as $20). They also have a 55 Chevy and would often offer us a ride to the bus stop for free. A safe area, we never felt uneasy walking back from the bus after midnight. The people in town are friendly even as we stand out in a non tourist area. It's nice to go for a walk and not be hassled by taxi drivers or people with offers for cigars. Maria makes a wonderful breakfast, we always ate on the balcony. Carlitos (Javier’s brother) speaks English well so we were never confused about anything. The next time that I am able to visit Cuba, I am going to stay here again, because it will be like visiting home. If you have any specific questions, I'd be happy to answer them from a visitor’s perspective. (EMAIL HIDDEN)
Hello everybody our stay in Javier Home was absolutely gorgeous. Very nice People. If you like to get a real impression about Cuba and the People living there. Than visit this location and enjoy the great Breakfast of Maria and the Airport transfers of Carlos and the great guidens of Carlos II we will love to come again.
I cannot say enough amazing things about this house. My fiance and I arrived with a warm greeting from Javier's father. He led us up to the 3rd level which had panoramic views of the ocean. Our accommodations included a large deck, dining room, kitchen, laundry space, 2 bathrooms and a bedroom. Carlos, one of the sons, greeted us with Cuba Libres (rum and coke) and explained a bit more about the house and town. We told them we were heading out to explore and Carlos kindly offered to drive us around and show us the sights and history of the town. He took us down to the fishing boats and showed us the family cafe they own. We stopped for a cup of coffee and chatted about the various types of fishing. He then offered to take us to the market to buy drinks and snacks. However, the house already offered many different drinks for sale as well. Carlos also gave us suggestions about places to eat and he was not wrong! Casa Grande was delicious! In the morning we woke up to the best breakfast spread! Home baked pastries, egg omelettes, tropical fruits and juices, coffee and milk. Javier and his father offered to take us to the airport. Since the international terminals can be confusing, Javier stayed with us until he was sure we found the correct terminal. This stay was amazing. They absolutely helped us feel like family. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to visit Cuba and doesn't mind staying a little outside of Havana.
