The cottage is wonderful. An idyllic place in the Wiltshire countryside. Lots of walking close by and allot to see in the area. It was perfect for a family holiday during the autumn.

We were so pleased to have you stay with your family. You have encouraged us to extend the age range to include youngsters. Obviously we will need to check the particular needs of each group. We leave 'basics' in the kitchen so that our guests do not go hungry! We hope that you'll come again. If you venture up to our other Listing in our walled garden in rural East Leicestershire you will find plenty to entertain your family and we will have the pleasure of meeting you.

Thanks for your review. More local guests comment on staying in the cottage as being a special and unique experience and love the village and our garden. We think so too, but maybe we are prejudiced! I shall pass on your comments to those that help us when we cannot be there ourselves, Sue & Tom

The cottage is welcoming, and Sue has breakfast foods ready when you arrive. Very nice! The nearness to Grovely Woods is a plus. We enjoyed walks there on several days. Both the Royal Oak and Swan are the closest pubs and offer nice food and drink. The garden at Chequers is lovel…
