Enjoy 180+-degree views of water and mountains from our premium location on Lake Chatuge. The well-appointed suite has a separate entrance and includes a spacious bedroom w/2 queens and attached private bath. Suite includes large den with 3 plush leather reclining sofas, 55" TV, an eating/game table, mini fridge, microwave and coffee/tea fixings. Enjoy sunrises and sunsets from your own patio, relaxing swing or hammock. Use of the dock, grill, two kayaks/life vests, beach towels & water floats.
If you're going to Hiawassee for the Georgia Mountain Fairground, hiking in North Georgia, visiting Young Harris College, or you want to get in Lake Chatuge look no further! This is a "private room" but in reality it's a room+ -- the first floor of our 2,000+-sq/ft-home. Our property covers the entire point so it feels secluded, yet oh-so-convenient! Entry is lakeside through a large sliding glass door, giving you your own entrance. The suite includes not only a private bedroom and bath, but also a large, adjoining TV room/gathering space.
The bedroom itself is twice the size of a hotel room and has 2 queen beds with luxury linens. The ensuite bathroom has a shower. The den area has an eating/game table, plus 2 large leather recliner sofas and leather chair recliner, and a 55" HD TV (note, we don't have cable but we do have Netflix, Roku, etc.) In the winter you can enjoy your own gas fireplace.
On the buffet are a microwave, coffee pot and an electric kettle for hot water plus an assortment of teas, creamer, and coffee. There's a mini refrigerator, wine opener, cheese board, coffee mugs, wine glasses, small plates for appetizers, bowls for breakfast and silverware. It's tidied up daily so you always have clean dishes, flatware, cups, mugs, etc.
While most people want to eat out, there is an outdoor Weber gas grill for your use. If you plan on grilling out, we have grilling utensils but you'll need to bring the supplies you need, e.g. paper plates, cutting board, paper towels, foil, food, food containers and spices. We have a washtub for dirty glasses and silverware but there's only the outdoor water faucet for water so it's a cold water cleanup. Think more like camp-style cooking. There's plenty of space for a large cooler should you bring your own supplies.
We provide a hairdryer and toiletries if you forgot and left something. No worries either way as the grocery store Ingles is soooo close.
On the large patio is a table and chairs, a hanging swing, and zero gravity lounge chairs. The area is partially covered so you can stay out of the sun - or not! We own the entire point so we have 180-degree plus views and a nice, constant breeze so you can relax in our double hammock which sits out on the point. The dock is verrrrrry close and we have two kayaks (one 2-seater and one single) and floats for your use. There's nothing like getting out on the water for an early swim or kayak or ending a day of hiking or exploring with a jump in the lake. We will even supply beach towels.
In the winter, the views of the surrounding mountains are gorgeous and snuggling under luxurious blankets, or getting exercise on long walks or hikes is the order of the day.

Either Mike or Peggy, the owners, will be upstairs, and can offer tips on the local area, but our goal is to be as unobtrusive as you want. We are animal lovers, and have a dog, but can't promise he'll play well with other dogs. As a result, out of an abundance of caution, no animals of any kind are allowed.
Zugang für Gäste
You will have access to the first floor, dock, float toys and kayaks. Mike and I use the top level, which is connected by a set of stairs to the first level. The kitchen and the second floor are not available nor are the owner's boat slip, jet ski or motor boat (unless we schedule a boat ride ahead of time). If you want to rent a boat or jet ski you can, but talk with us first about your plans as there are lots of options. We have an extra dock for rented jet ski.
Interaktion mit Gästen
While one, or both, of the owners will be onsite, we will interact only as needed. We respect your privacy but welcome meeting new people too.

I'm married to Mike for 24 years and we have two kids in college. Mike and I like to get outdoors, meet new people and have fun! Mike is retired from the construction field and is a true McGuyver, Peggy is still working in the public relations field. Our hobbies include scuba, motorcycles and boating and restful activities such as reading. We look for inspiration and kindness and feel blessed beyond measure. We are constantly making updates to the space to make it more convenient and comfortable for guests, family and friends. For years we called our home(s) the "Gardner hotel" and then got the lake house and in 2016 and decided to make it official. So we treat it seriously but don't take ourselves seriously.
