Pro: Loved the place. Owner was pleasant. Con: Far from town so you'll have to spend a lot on transpo. Agent gave wrong informations: incorrect key arrangement and insufficient address. Owner asked additional P200 for our midnight checkout despite "flexible checkout". No electricity when we arrived. Overall experience: not bad.
We appreciated that Jechel was easy to talk to. We initially had a last-minute booking with her in January, but had to back out last minute. Thankfully, she accommodated our last-minute postponement to March. Staying in Jechel's place was a good way to see more of Baguio, since it is in the outskirts of the city and we got to see more views on the way to her place/the plaza. It has a more local feel of Baguio, and is nice and quiet, and away from the noise of Session Road. It is a 20-minute ride away from the plaza, but it is easy to get to and from Jechel's area via taxi or jeep. Note that there is a steep, 3-minute, uphill and downhill walk from the main road's waiting shed to the building. The view from the unit is nice, if you are facing the mountainside. However, we were not anticipating that it would be as dirty as it was. We were instructed to go to a first unit, but were disappointed on how dusty the furniture was and that there were hairs on the bed. We requested to be moved, which Jechel accommodated right away. However, the second unit we were in was even dirtier (dirty floors, dusty furniture, questionable sheets, used towels and mugs, etc.). To avoid wasting time, we just accepted the second unit. I hope this is just a "glitch in the system" since the other reviews were good and had "very clean" in them. Jechel's place is perfect if you are looking for a quiet yet homey place (except for the cleanliness) to rest after a long day of touring Baguio, and for a more local feel of the city. //Berns and Johan
