Incredible waterfalls are a short 20 minute walk from the house, town is a 10 minute drive.
We live in the exclusive Quintas del Bosque gated mountain development. You have spacious quarters with an outdoor Californian kitchen, living spaces and large decks. Lots of privacy.
Our home was built with 4 elements in mind - adventure, imagination, love and nature. "Casa del Fuego" will surround you with lush gardens – filled with exotic bamboo, flowers, fruit trees, herbs, coffee and gardens to stroll and sit in while gazing out upon the mountain vistas. If you need to totally disconnect from TV, loud music and constant technology, then this is the place for you as none is offered. This is a break from the hustle and bustle of an over-stimulated world, where you breathe, think, read and relax. Incredible waterfalls are a short 20 minute walk from the house, town is a 10 minute drive.
With total privacy, you enter from the back stairs through the newly built California kitchen. This is a fully stocked outdoor kitchen with hot and cold running water, gas stove top, small fridge, gas BBQ grill and all the utensils, pots and dishes to cook with. Just bring your food. It is undercover and cool with the breeze. Next to it are two benches to lounge about and a dining table for four people. The two bedrooms and your bathroom are on the same level. The master bedroom has a queen bed and a massage table in a spacious room. The second guestroom has twin bunk beds.
This property is NOT suitable for young children as there are steep slopes, walkways and decks with little or no railings.
Besides enjoying the gardens, you can walk around the estate following the roads. In the spring we have flocks of parrots. Summer is filled with hummingbird by day and fireflies at night.
Air conditioning is not needed. When it's hot there is always a spot to be in the shade or go down to the stream or wander over to the waterfalls. The bedrooms stay cool. Winter day time temperature is perfect and in the evenings a long sleeve is all you may need.
If you love to write, enjoy painting and sketching, play a musical instrument, this is the place to be inspired. Bring your yoga mat and find your perfect spot to meditate.
You will have the feeling of being in the mountains. Across the valley you can barely see the other houses. You have total privacy.
We are currently building a natural earthen structure with a live roof that can be used as a sweat lodge/sauna, massage/mediation space or reading room that guests can experience. Jacques is around on the grounds based on what hours you want, so if you need anything, call for him.

We live in the main house part time, but Jacques comes in every day. He will help you with what ever your needs are and take you out to the waterfalls for a tip. While his duties are to maintain the grounds and gardens, he is most willing to help you with what ever your need are. Show your appreciation with a tip when you leave. If you want to explore the surrounding countryside, we suggest taking Jacques with you as your guide. There are no road signs so local knowledge helps.
Weitere wichtige Infos
If you are flying in the airport is Santiago (STI) and its a 45 min drive to the house.
You are renting a house in the country side and to be close to nature. You may hear a rooster crowing in the distance and at night you will see no bright lights.
While we do not offer internet, we are able to get it via our phones. If WiFi access is important, we suggest getting a prepaid plan on your phone and coverage is okay at the house.
To access the property you will pass two security stations that are staffed 24 hrs a day.
There are many things to do if you want to leave the grounds and play further afield. Drive the newly built road to Constanza that winds through the mountains. Great spot for a day trip and lunch. A shorter drive is to Manaboa and La Ceniga with views of the river. A new road is being built on this scenic drive. There are other drives through the mountains that will require 4by4 but these are two must do drives. If you rent a 4by4 have our security staff tell you how to get up to Lo Lamita, the tiny village above our development 6 km away. It is worth a visit to see the campo.
You can also go white water rafting from one of two outfits. For the serious hiker, have Jacques take you on a 4 to 6 hr hike from the house up El Magorte for breath taking views. Our neighbor is a several hundred year old active monastery at the base of the hike.
- Our home is suitable for responsible ADULTS only.
- Our home is not kid-friendly so no children please.
- Our personal upstairs bedroom is off limits.
- No loud music. If your music volume disturbs our neighbors, security will ask you to vacate the property.

I am an adventurer, solo around the world racing yachtsman, award winning author, motivational keynote speaker and lover of life. I live for great experiences and have helped in diplomatic issues and peace talks. Much time is spent mentoring young people including teaching macro-economics at several universities, sailing, playing in my garden and traveling the globe. My friends span all corners of the world. I have no time for drama.
When visiting us I enjoy stimulating conversations and will give you a tour of our gardens explaining why I have chosen to create this environment.
Some of my favorite places range from Thailand because of the great street food, cheap massages and friendly, smiling people. We love Cape Town, South Africa with its great mountains and beaches, vineyards and orchards and resilient, polite people. Portugal and Ireland are special because of all our close friends there. As a motivational speaker I have experienced many countries and cultures, enjoying the finest hotels. But we always add on extra days to throw a backpack on and travel like a local. I have had the privilege of experiences over 100 countries. I have also sailed to some of the most remote corners of our planet. Currently I am writing my third book based on our travels, people we have come to know and cultures we have loved. I will cover economic injustice, social reforms, what a civil society should resemble to how we can add to our world and create a sustainable legacy.
