Large rebuilt craftsman house. Bedroom is on 2nd floor with a queen size bed. French windows facing east. Lots of morning sunlight. Large custom bathroom on the same floor, and an extra 1/2 bathroom on the main floor. 5 min walk to Sunset Junction.

Modern craftsman home. Bedroom is on 2nd floor with a queen size bed with 600 thread count Egyptian long cotton sheets. French doors facing East. Lush green views with lots of morning sunlight. Shared bathroom is a beautifully designed custom bathroom, with a very large shower. There is also is an additional powder room (1/2 bath) downstairs.
(This room does not have a working balcony. It is for viewing and fresh air only)

Large modern kitchen, great space to cook or just hang out in, with french doors that lead to another huge balcony/deck where you can, BBQ, or just relax and have a cocktail before heading out into Silver Lake, Hollywood, Downtown LA, Echo Park for the nightlife, the food, and the music!

Full access to Kitchen, Full bath, plus an additional half bathroom off the kitchen, Balcony off kitchen, and lounge/patio in the front of the house. The bathrooms are shared with between 2 and 4 other people.
I also stock the kitchen with coffee, tea, bagels, cereal, bagels/toast, almond and cow's milk, and sometimes I'll have hard boiled eggs in the refrigerator and/or fresh fruit on the kitchen island. The house has central heat/air conditioning and I set the thermostat between 70 and 72 degrees Fahrenheit (21-25 Celsius) depending on the weather.

Depends on each situation. Sometimes we're all very social, and other times guests just want to relax and enjoy their privacy.

We are walking distance from the Sunset Junction, that features such destinations as Intelligentsia, Cafe Stella, Bulan Vegan Thai, The Black Cat, Cafe Flore, Nature Well, Blossom Vietnamese, the LA Eagle. Akbar, El Cid, Cliffs Edge. Every Saturday and Wednesday, we have our own farmers market, also within walking distance. We're also very close to, Los Feliz, Echo Park, and a quick bus ride or Uber to get to Downtown LA and Hollywood for the clubs, attractions, and entertainment.

To get to my house from LAX:
There are shuttles available (Prime Time and Supershuttle)
There is also the 'Fly Away Bus' that takes you to Union Station Downtown, then you can take Uber or Taxi to get to my house. (5-10 minutes).
I believe you can now also take Uber directly to and from at LAX.
25 minutes from LAX with light traffic.
50 minutes from LAX with heavy traffic.

In my neighborhood you can take the city bus anywhere. There is also a subway stop for the Red Line, less than a half a mile away that will take you to Hollywood and Universal Studios, or downtown LA, where you can transfer to other trains. You can download an app called 'GoMetro' for more information. I advise guests to use (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps and click on 'transit' to see what public transportation options are available.

If you have a car:
I rent out 3 rooms however the city only gives me 2 parking passes. Parking passes are available on a first-come first-serve basis. If you have a parking pass, park ONLY on the block in front of the house. Hang it from the rear view mirror facing forward. If no passes are available, street parking is also available Sanborn Street, ONLY on the 900 block (behind my house) no permit is required. If you still can't find parking, overnight parking can also be found on Santa Monica Blvd. and Myra Ave. Always read parking signs and rules when parking your car! Check for times allowed, if permit required, street sweeping, etc. And don't block any driveways or you will be towed. Los Angles makes a lot of money from giving out parking tickets and towing cars away. Pay attention and you should be okay.

I grew up in the New York suburbs and north east New England. I wound up living in New York City for a few years, and eventually moved to California about 22 years ago. I've been living in the Silver Lake and Los Feliz area ever since, and I run the BNB with my partner Frank.
I embrace the 'LA' lifestyle, in that I try to be easy going and flexible, and do take advantage of the local delights. (Mountains, deserts, and the Pacific Ocean.) When I'm traveling, sometimes I'm looking for a peaceful natural retreat, other times looking for a fun city that stays open late.
It's amazing how many interesting and really cool people I've met through airbnb.com and I'm very happy I can be a host and will continue to do so.
