A furnished one bedroom apartments on a 2nd floor corner in a building with quiet tenants only a 3-5 minute walk away from the University of Washington. It is located near 42nd St NE and 11 Ave. University Way is just two blocks over. Trader Joe's, Safeway, Movie Theater, and a variety of diverse restaurants are a five minute walk away. Easy access to I-5. 10 min to get to down town normally; 20+min in rush hour. $12 per day parking in our own lot if there is a available space.
* A full private bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen with a full-size fridge and a range.

*Furniture includes a sofa bed, new queen bed and bed sheets. comforter and duvet, pillow and pillow case, night stand and lamp, desk with desk chair, dining table with chairs, towels and soap are provided,

*Free WiFI internet access.
*coin-operated washing machines and dryers are on site.

It is on the 2nd floor corner unit, there is no elevator, it is shared wifi with a few neighboring units.

Please refer to the house manual located in your itinerary for the check in and out procedures as well as additional important information.
It is a quiet building but the garbage collector comes three times a week in the morning in the back alley, you may hear their truck sound.
Parking in our lot is $12 per day, if you're interested in a monthly pass that is cheaper per day, please contact me.

The owner will pay for the water, sewer, electricity and solid waste. The tenant use electricity judiciously. For long term guests, If the electricity usage is over $60/mo (over 28 days) for one guest or over $80 for two guests, the guests will pay the difference. This is the way that we do not casually waste energy.
Long term guests (over 28 days) due to its discounted rate than weekly or daily rental, need to purchase household consumable goods after the initial supplies are consumed. If the cleaning takes more than 2 hours cleaning, the extra cleaning will be deducted from the deposit.

No Smoking in the apartment or anywhere in the building!
Our apartment is in a No Smoking Building. Smoking is strictly prohibited in all areas of the apartment and the building. This includes open areas like the balcony and the rooftop-deck. The law requires you only smoke 25 feet away from the building.
If we find evidence of smoking, we will have to ask you to vacate the premises immediately. We will also impose a fine of $100.
Please wash dishes with detergent and throw away garbage and recyclables before you leave.
The parking spaces are rented and assigned parking spaces, please do not randomly park there unless you paid for the available one.
Please avoid leaving splashed water out on the floor of the bathroom.
Water may leak to lower floor.

Please recycle as much as you can. Yes, even food can recycle for compost. In parking lot, the green bin is for food compost, no plastics in the compost. The blue bin is for clean recyclables The code to the garbage room (behind the mailbox area) is 8123 then "kwikset" to open, then press "kwikset" to lock the door.
The carpet is professionally cleaned, you are welcome to remove your shoes.
*No other stranger to sleep here other than the tenant unless notify in advance or deposit will not be returned.
* The parking lot is paid parking, please do not randomly park there to avoid being towed, please contact Melissa if you want to rent a spot.

*Please turn off heater when you are out for at least a couple of hours.
*Please recycle as much as you can to reduce the garbage, even food can be recycled as compost.
*Since it is a quiet building, please be quiet after 9 PM.
*Please use hair trap in the tub and throw away hairs after each shower to avoid clogging the drain.
Please do not use washer and dryer in the late evening. The laundry room door will be locked at 10 pm.

The apartment was clean, quiet and fairly large (400 square feet). It was indeed a 3 minute walk to campus as well as a major bus stop, the university restaurant scene and a Trader Joe's. The kitchen had basic pots and pans. I think this is definitely a better option than staying in the (overpriced) local hotels for people visiting UW. There were a few (small) negatives. The apartment was not ready until an hour after I arrived. They were vacuuming (apparently there had been a power outage). The outside of the complex is a bit run down. The kitchen could have been better appointed (I had to go and buy paper towels). There was no AC, but that is usually not a problem in Seattle. But overall, a really solid experience. I would definitely recommend.

There is a lot of noise in the building, as there is a hotel behind and the garbage trucks pick up every single morning. No AC so it gets really hot in the room. We used the place just for sleeping, as there wasn't much else to do there.

Close to university which is great. The new bike shares made getting to and from the train really easy. If you can arrange parking ahead of time it's a good deal compared to the lots nearby. Place was good for the price, but kitxhen amenities are a little sparse if you are planning on an extended stay and cooking there. We weren't so it wasn't an issue. Plenty of space and sleeping options. I would stay again.

It's a really nice apartment. It was really close to the university. Transportation is great the light link is like 15 min away walking and there are busses all around. I enjoyed staying at the apartment it has restaurant near and a quite area. The only thing that did suck a little is that the trash man would come early in the morning and it would wake me up because I'm a really light sleeper but other than that it was a good place to stay.

Melissa's place is very close to the University of Washington, various shops, and restaurants. It is nice and spacious. The reviews about the dumpster truck noises and the host's frugality on amenities are all true. Despite those, the worst experience of this stay happened when our host accused us of bringing a pet home and having it stay overnight, which we did not. Our host claimed that she had tapes from the building camera that showed a dog staying over at our rental unit and said that we violated the house rules. After we replied to the host's message, she then explained that the tape was in low quality so she misinterpreted it. We felt offended. We understand that she wanted to protect her property, but she should not have done it with such bad communication skills and poor evidence.

$150 a night, no towel bars, no amenities, no paper towels or kitchen supplies. You could only prepare boil and eat meals- great fo ramen. It was very close to dumpsters so the apartment smelt. Wake up early when the trash trucks come. I would not stay here again if you paid me. I know the Airbnb code- I say nice things about your place and you say nice things about me. If I never stay in an Airbnb again, I hope I have spared other people misery.

Not my favorite apartment experience. Melissa runs rentals for the entire complex, so this is pretty much just another way to sell units.

We work hard to provide affordable decent short term furnished place for summer interns or visitors to UW while the nearby housing like this is scarce. It is much less work if we just rent whole year than just one to three months. Many returning guests year after year appreciating our offers.
