You will have your own clean, private room with Western style toilet and shower with hot-water. The home is close to transportation, restaurants, Bank, ATM and shops and it's a lovely, friendly neighborhood. Free Internet service (Wi-Fi) is available to guests in my house.

We will provide you early morning Nepali tea/ coffee for free. We can prepare Nepali food for you (please ask) (small donation welcomed) or you may cook your own. If you are looking for to experience real Nepali culture with and authentic people then it is a right place to stay.

We can pick you up from the airport if you kindly provide me your flight details (cost: 1200 Nepali rupees for day-time pickup and 1800 Nepali rupees for night-time pickup).

Birendras house is a great place to stay when you're coming to Kathmandu! It is very clean and located in a quiet neighbourhood, but just a 15 min. walk from Thamel. I felt very welcome by Birendra and his whole family! The best thing is, that Birendra is a passionate traveller himself, so besides precious advices and help for your stay in Nepal, you will have really interesting talks. I highly recommend this place!

Since we've arrived in KTM everything was perfect organized by Birendra . From the Transport to his lovely, new and very clean house (which is very close to the centre of Thamel), up to the organisation for our Trekking Tour. His family is very nice and helpfull. Once Biredras wife cooked a local meal for us which we really enjoyed. On a other day the kids guided us to a nice Restaurant (Natraj) just 10 min. from the house away. We think Biredra is a very relaxed and open minded person who will answer all your questions and make our stay most comfortable. We felt very welcome and can just highly recommend to stay here if you visit Nepal.

As beatuiful and culturally rich as Kathmandu can be when you know where to look, it is also vast and chaotic! Because of that, the expierience can be a little overwhelming when you get there. Luckily, i met Birendra, who is a really awesome host. He made my stay in Kathmandu very pleasant! I contacted Birendra via Airbnb at first, where he was quick to reply. When i arrived in Kathmandu, he sent his friend to pick me up and bring me to his home. It is located in Lazimpat, one of the most peaceful quarters of Kathmandu, about a 15 minute walk from Thamel and right next to the English and Indian emabassies. His House is amazing, The room has two beds, a balcony and a own bathroom next to it. All the windows and doors in the house have Mosquito nets which can be closed at night, so you dont need to worry about that. His family was very pleasant to be around as well. There are his two kids, who taught me a bit of Nepali and also his wife, who cooked me excellent Dal Bat for dinner. They helped me a great deal and made me feel at home quickly. Birendra himself was very helpful with all the questions i had. Being a local and a trekking Guide as well, he coud give me useful information on where to go for buying stuff. Also, he was very helpful in helping me plan my trip. He is starting up a charity for an orphanage in Baneshor at the moment, and He took me there to see the Project, which was very nice. So if you are interested in volunteering or donating you can contact him aswell. I am glad to have chosen Briendra and his family as hosts for my stay, and i thank them for their hospitality. When i go to Kathmandu the next time i already know where i will stay.

This was the best trip I've ever had and Birendra and his family were wonderful hosts and one of the reasons why it went so well! We went to Nepal to get to know the culture and nature, the mountains, monasteries and so on. Birendra was always ready to help us and to give us advices where to go and how to get around without spending too much money. Birendra even has his own agency but never told us to travel with it. Instead he gave us advices. After looking for some Trekking agencies we decided to go with his and it was perfect. As I have written before, it was the best trip of my life and I will definitely be going back to Nepal and Birendras home soon.

The home was clean and bright, really enjoyed the balcony! The room was on the second floor, but Birendra and his family seemed to stay mostly on the third floor, which makes sense as that's where the TV is, and also seemed to be where the wi-fi signal was strongest. I was given a spare key to use to go in and out--took a bit of practice to lock and unlock the door, but I got the hang of it. I got a bit lost in the neighborhood the first time I tried to walk somewhere, even with (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps, but once I figured out the simplest way, I was able to come and go easily. Was definitely glad I stayed here and not in the Thamel area, which was claustrophobic and noisy!

We enjoyed our stay. Both the room and bathroom are very clean. The house is located in a quiet neighbourhood, took us about 15-20 mins to walk to Thamel. The entire family was very welcoming and we had a nice chat with the host. Would recommend.

Hi, my name is Birendra. I have been trekking and guiding since 1998 in Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan. I have always had, and continue to have, a strong desire to remain "close to the ground". My experience with trekking began when I was growing up in the Kanchenjunga region of Nepal; In fact, I had to trek two hours each day to get to school! At the age of nine my family moved from the mountains to the Terai region of Nepal, where I completed high school. I then enrolled to Tribhuwan University in Kathmandu, where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Arts and Humanity.

Currently, I am running my own trekking company called “Adventure Club Treks & Expedition. My company operates tours and trips in Nepal, as well as in Bhutan, Tibet and India. I love traveling. I have traveled extensively through Asia, USA, entire European countries and all the rural areas of Nepal. I love to meet new people and develop enduring friendships with persons of any race, ethnicity, backgrounds or genders who are welcoming, honest, caring and keen on sharing their ideas and experiences.

As a side project, I and my wife (Sarala) are associated with an orphanage based in Kathmandu, called New Ray of Hope, it was established in 2010 to care for children who have been orphaned or abandoned. We currently have 15 children, aged between 4 and 13 who come to us from many different regions of Nepal. The work that we do at New Ray of Hope is vital for the children They are able to go to school every day and in the evenings they take part in organized play activities. We can't change their pasts but we hope that we can change their futures and give them the choices in life that every child deserves. We started to host strangers through Airbnb to support orphanage, we contribute 25% that we get paid by guests.
