Authentic New Orleans home & neighborhood on the Canal Streetcar line. One block from Bayou St.John & City Park. Walk to great restaurants, groceries, cafes. Very safe and friendly area. Complete renovation with modern conveniences including kitchen. It is located on the ground floor of our home. We live upstairs.
This is the ground floor apartment of our recently (completed in June 2013) restored historic New Orleans home. We live upstairs with our family of five. It's located in one of the safest neighborhoods in the city. The Canal Streetcar runs in front of the house, and you're a block away from beautiful City Park and Bayou St. John. There are ton of festivals that happen in this area (Jazz Fest, Voo Doo Fest, Seafood Festival, Bayou Boogaloo). You're a short streetcar ride or bike ride from the French Quarter. However, you can find plenty to do within walking distance, including some of the city's most talked about restaurants like Toup's Meatery, MoPho and Cafe Degas. The apartment is your perfect home base! It's a well decorated, comfortable apartment that features one bedroom with a queen size memory foam bed, a large bath, an adorable eat-in kitchen as well as a washer and dryer. There are two private entrances, one on the side of the house and one to the back patio and shared large, well maintained backyard. We also have two bikes available to borrow upon request! There is a dedicated bike bath just a few blocks away that brings you to the French Quarter. Just bring your own helmets!

We are proud New Orleanians who both work in the hospitality industry. We're thrilled to share our city and insider tips with visitors! The apartment is it's own space in our home and has two private entrances, so there is a possibility we won't see each other, but we leave that up to guests, depending on the interaction level they'd like. We always like guests to know before they book that we live upstairs with our two little boys and baby girl. Some noise can carry downstairs. If your sensitive to noise, this may not be the best fit. However, you can see from our many reviews that we have hosted many happy guests! The kids as well as ourselves love having visitors!
We live in the best neighborhood in New Orleans! Just a block away is City Park (the New Orleans Museum of Art, Morning Call Beignets, City Putt, Carousel Gardens, beautiful live oak trees, etc) and Bayou St. John. Some of the city's best restaurants are just steps away including Toup's Meatery, Ralph's on the Park, Lola's and Cafe Degas. Two major grocery stores are three blocks away. The streetcar rambles by in front of the house admist the live oaks. This is a historic New Orleans neighborhood and embodies much of what our city is all about! It's also a very safe neighborhood!
The Canal Streetcar runs right in front of the house. For a mere $1.25 you can take a short-trip to the French Quarter and downtown New Orleans. We also have two bikes guests can use upon request and there is a bike path that will take directly to the French Quarter.
Weitere wichtige Infos
Parking is on street only. But there are no meters or permits required in the area. Finding a spot is never a problem (except during Voo Doo Fest, Jazz Fest and the Saturday before Mardi Gras). We live upstairs with our young kids. We do our best to keep the volume down, but it can carry through the floor. We always like guests to know this upfront in case they're sensitive to noise.
No smoking inside. Patio outside is ok for smoking.

My husband and I happily live in the Parkview/Bayou St. John area of New Orleans with our two young sons. We enjoy everything New Orleans has to offer from food to music to Mardi Gras (we even march with our kids in a Mardi Gras krewe). We love being outdoors and walking to the bayou/park. Our last three trips were to Cape Cod, NYC and Key West. We look forward to welcoming people to our little piece of New Orleans in what we consider one of the city's best neighborhoods! My husband is a native New Orleanian and I'm a transplant, but together, we share a unique perspective on where to go and what to see in NOLA. Hope to see you soon!
