Great location! This 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom condo is on the mountain within Wintergreen Resort overlooking Devil’s Knob golf course 18th fairway. A 3 minute walk from the Wintergreen Spa and a 2 minute walk to the end of the parking lot to the shuttle to skiing and the resort main attractions that runs by every 20 minutes (at entrance to Stone Ridge neighborhood). We are immediately adjacent to the Wintergreen Nature Foundation.
We looked at over two dozen units and chose this one because it has such a wonderful feel. A guest from last summer summed it up the best: “It felt as though a friend had loaned us their place rather than a rental.”
Inviting - feels like a home away from home! Fully furnished with a fully equipped kitchen including grocery staples (we provide coffee and pantry staples for your enjoyment) to make your stay convenient and comfortable: full size refrigerator, stove, microwave, blender, toaster, teapot, waffle maker, griddle, dishwasher, coffee maker, and plenty of pots/pans/utensils. The bathrooms are well stocked with shower supplies, hair dryers, Kleenex etc. Sizeable dining room and barstools to granite countertop. The family room has oversized L-shape comfortable couches and a number of games spanning age groups. 100 DVDs - movies for kids, adults - a combo of classics and new movies. Netflix as well! Full size washer and dryer with detergent. Linens/towels and bath amenities provided. Includes wifi, TVs in every bedroom and living room, stereo, and cable. Get cozy in front of the gas fire place. Views - picturesque views from this mountain-top top floor unit through the expansive windows. Feels very private. Look out onto the golf course and over the Blue Ridge Mountains. Both the living and dining rooms exit on to the patio with electric Traeger grill with wood pellets (gas grills prohibited at Wintergreen).
Inviting bedrooms - the master bedroom has a queen bed, attached full bath, and a safe. The second bedroom has two twin beds also with an attached full bath. The upstairs loft is a great area that sleeps 4 comfortably with two queen beds and an attached full bath - note that the bathroom ceiling is at an angle so the 3rd bathroom would not be as comfortable for adults. I'm 5'9 and showered there but prefer to use one of the downstairs bathrooms. Unlike many 3 bedroom condos, this top floor bedroom is walled off from the great room below with windows allowing in the natural light but keeping out the noise from the kitchen and family room. All rooms have wood hangars, luggage unpacking racks, a variety of extra pillows and bedding, fans, individual baseboard heaters and individual thermostats.
Relaxing – but if you need, in addition to wifi, we also have a study nook with a desk should you need to work or want a larger than cellphone or laptop screen.
So much to do - at 3,500 feet in the Blue Ridge Mountains, adjacent to the Appalachian Trail and Blue Ridge Parkway, Wintergreen is a beautiful four-season resort. Wintergreen offers something for the entire family: skiing, snowboarding, tubing (winter and summer), hiking, swimming/kayaking/fishing at Lake Monacan, horseback riding, golf and tennis, cultural events, wineries and microbreweries, spa treatments, historic sites, and plenty of relaxation on top of a beautiful mountain.
The ski lodge, ski lifts, Copper Mine Restaurant and The Edge Pub are just minutes away. Walk to the Nature Center, and fenced dog park.
Kid friendly! The Adventure Dome accommodates kids year round. Complimentary movies and popcorn under the stars on weekends. Complimentary corn hole.
Access to 2 pools (on Timber Crest and in Stoney Creek) and Lake Monocan Park Sunday - Friday.
We leave an informative guest book with instructions on the fireplace, thermostat, water heater and other home tips. We also have a visitor’s book listing fun things to do, restaurant and winery/brewery recommendations. We can send these to you electronically prior to your visit as well.
Check-in is normally at 4:00 pm and check-out is normally by 11:00 am. Please contact us if you need to request alternate arrangements. We are flexible and will do our best to accommodate depending on other bookings.
This building, like most in Wintergreen on the mountain, has a lot of steps. We are a long stairway from the parking lot - 33 steps. The benefit of being on the top floor is the view but that also means taking stairs to the top floor.
The Wintergarden Spa services are available for anyone to purchase but the Spa amenities (pool and fitness room) require a separate membership (we are not members). We choose to instead ski and access the hundreds of acres of hiking and other outdoor amenities – isn’t that why we are all going to Wintergreen?!?!
Dogs - we will consider well behaved dogs with a $40: stay pet fee per pet. We love dogs too. Please let us know a bit more about your pet if you would like to book and we will have to send a "special offer" separate link to include the pet fee. Out apologies but we can't accommodate cats due to allergies.

Carpet - our carpet (including in the dining room and living room) is off white. While we always vacuum it and have whole carpet cleaning every two months, we are a family friendly condo and the carpet coloring is showing some spills. We will continue to spot clean, and whole carpet clean every two months, but there is dining and living room carpet staining. We have lowered our rates relative to other comparable units. We plan to replace the carpets with wood floors after the ski season but want to ensure y'all have a heads up.

We don't use a Short Term Rental Agreement but ask that you (1) send list of your guest names and ages and (2) confirm you can comply with the following departure instructions (a copy of which will also be in the condo):
We are delighted to share our home with you and hope you enjoyed your stay at Wintergreen. We appreciate your support in helping us maintain our property for future use. We ask that you complete the following before your departure:
1. Remove ALL trash from the unit and discard in dumpsters located in Condo parking lot. Please be sure to secure the bin upon disposal to keep the bears out!
2.Pile used bath towels on the floor in the bathroom.
3.Strip used sheets off of the beds and leave on top of the beds. No need to strip beds in bedrooms not used during the stay.
4.Clean dirty dishes/pans and return to the appropriate cupboards. No dirty dishes should be left in the sink.
5.Feel free to use the dishwasher but ensure you empty the dishwasher upon completion of the wash cycle (enabling you to turn water off when you leave).
6.Remove and discard all food items you brought including refrigerator items.
7.Close and lock all windows and doors.
8.Keys returned to lock box; additional keys left in wooden bowl on kitchen counter.
9.Turn thermostat to: 78 degrees (spring/summer months); and 55 degrees (fall/winter months).
10.Turn off water valve (see detailed instructions in manual) to avoid a water issue (last year some condos in the building had water issues flooding other units)
Air Force employee and outdoor enthusiast with 2 elementary age kids and husband. My first time in Wintergreen was summer 2016 when I ran a Spartan there and immediately fell in love. I'm from Seattle and my husband is from Colorado and the place reminded us of both! Decided to buy a well established, beautifully decorated unit that we could use some, rent out some. We are a 3 hour drive away just outside of DC.
