Whatever this camper lacks in size, makes up for in personality. This retro vintage camper sits on the Nolichucky river with the Appalachian Trail out its front door. True to the vintage style it is built for people six foot tall and under. Enjoy rafting, kayaking, swimming, hiking or simply staring into a fire you build outside the camper.

Der Wohnraum

Though small, this camper has two beds. One located at the back of the camper with a sitting area across from it. The other is located once the kitchen table has been lowered. It has no restroom or running water, those are located nearby in the campground . It has a propane stove/oven, and an electric heater. It has a deck with chairs looking out into the Cherokee National Forest. It faces a trail that leads about 100 yards up to the Appalachian trail. There is also a picnic table with a fire pit. The campground sells firewood at a reasonable cost, for your convenience. Fall asleep enjoying the sounds of nature.

Interaktion mit Gästen

My managers Don and Rebecca live on the property, and will be available to meet you upon arrival, and for any questions you may have.

Weitere wichtige Infos

Rick's vintage camper was a fun, cozy place to spend the night! It's located in a very cool campground with nearby bathrooms, showers, and coffee. Although it was a little chilly at night, we were comfortable and definitely would stay here again!

Very secluded area, but all only a short drive from supplies and stores. The camper is just what you would expect, but fortunately it has an air conditioner which makes humid nights so much better than a tent. Would stay again for sure.

Great place to stay if you don't want to stay in a tent but want to do the whole camping thing. Table bed was comfy and the ac kept us cool. Great campground right on the river!

Ricks place was Absolutely the perfect place for a last minute adventure. The camper is adorable and perfect for 2 people. The camper is located in a campground type neighborhood. The neighbors and the staff at the campground were both very nice. The staff delivered wood to us and gave great directions to a local diner right down the street, which was the perfect ending to a fun camping adventure!

This little camper was perfect for my girlfriend and I.   We are not regular “Campers” so it was nice to feel like we were camping, but still have a solid roof and heated place to sleep.  It faces the beautiful forrest, so you feel isolated, but you’re actually surrounded by allot of friendly people in this little neighborhood of cabins and tents. This camper didn’t have running water or bathrooms, but that wasn’t an issue for us, since we were wanting to feel like we were camping a bit. The bathroom/showers are a short walk over and they are heated (air) and had hot water.  We felt comfortable using the bathrooms, you can tell they are kept clean. Water: There is a pipe with a spout about 20 feet from the camper with fresh cold water from the mountain. It dropped to about 20 degrees the first night we stayed, we brought our own down comforter, combined with the heater that was there for us, we slept very comfortably and warm. We slept together in the larger converted kitchen table bed in the front felt perfect for us.  It seemed like it’s just a bit smaller than a Full size bed.  I’m not sure what it measures out to be, but it seemed like it might be a small place to sleep if you’re really tall.  The other beds in the space seemed perfect for single sleepers and kids. The stove inside the camper worked great. The whole area is beautiful and we wanted to stay longer to explore it some more. Bring some pots and pans if you plan on cooking.  We were fortunate enough to run into Rick, who was kind enough to lend us some pots and pans we could use along with a little propane stove we could use outside.  It was great. Make sure to check the weather and bring whatever you would need to feel comfortable.  The heater there worked great, but we were still glad we brought our own comforter. On a clear night, The night sky is unbelievable from here.  I live in the city, so I couldn’t believe how bright the stars looked, and how many! Cell service in this area was down to one bar for both of us.  My girlfriends AT&T iPhone was at 1 bar but with a G3 connection, My Verizon was at 1 bar 1x,..(slower).  AT&T will work better here. We would highly recommend this place to our friends.

I am a Tennessee native and I've lived on the land here alongside of the Nolichucky River for over 30 years. This is home. I am a wood turner by trade, but I began my work life as a raft guide on the Nolichucky, Nantahala and other rivers. I stay active with hiking, trail running, rafting and I love to garden and cook. As a buddy of mine from New Zealand says, "If you can't have fun, what can you have?" I try to keep a positive attitude about life and nurture the friendships I have. My friends are my family.
