Gorgeous farm house in idyllic setting overlooking the James River; a true retreat where families and friends can gather and relax: pool (open mid/late May through September), hot tub, chef's kitchen. 5BR + sunroom with futon sleeps up to 12 comfortably with bed sharing. *This property is on the market.*
This charming home with modern updates and lovely furnishings has been our family's retreat for two decades. The location so far from city lights allows for an unparalleled night sky and 360 degree pastoral views all day. Quiet, private, and restful, a stay at River Circle is an experience you will treasure.
The master bedroom downstairs has a queen bed and an attached full bathroom with double sink, tub and steam shower. The adjacent sunroom has a double futon and can share the master bath for showering and access the downstairs powder room via the living room door. Upstairs has four bedrooms: one double, one king with a small child's bed (antique) in the room, one queen, and a room with two twins. These four rooms share one bathroom.
The kitchen is fully stocked for families/group meals: linens, utensils, dishes, flatware, stainless steel pots/pans, baking sheets, Dualit toaster, KitchenAid mixer, 10-cup coffee maker and separate espresso machine, microwave, two large refrigerators, two dishwashers, and a 4-burner Viking stove. It is truly a "chef's kitchen".

We have had several requests for using the space for weddings. This property is on the market for sale and as such we cannot guarantee availability as far in advance as most people plan for this kind of large-scale event. We can give at least 30 days notice of any potential sale, however, if you are comfortable with this possibility. Due to the preliminary work required to ready the surrounding areas for cars, equipment and guests, we would ask for a $3500 rental fee for up to 75 guests. Larger events can be discussed but additional charges would apply to maintain the property in anticipation of showing to potential buyers.
This is a family's gathering place. We hope you will treat the property as if it were your own family's. Enjoy the amenities, be comfortable and respectful of the mostly antique furnishings. Smoking outside is appreciated. Pets are considered.
Once a reservation is made, please read the House Manual section of the listing for detailed information about the house.
Our family has now settled in Charlottesville. We have enjoyed this country property for about 20 years. We are thrilled to share it with people who appreciate the peace and beauty of a retreat from the daily grind.
