I get comments about the nice quirky things I have in my apartment. I never thought of it that way but when I look at some places that are very modern and shiny, I smile and think yeah...they're right. My apartment is unique; it is old, home and fun. The Lockhart is about one block away. I want you to feel really good while here. I keep it clean. You have a private room that locks but you are welcome to come out and enjoy the whole apt. It is your home while you are in Toronto!
Pet alert: this apartment is home to two beautiful black cats who think they own you, the apartment and the alley!
Not a lot of luggage? Why not stay in the Traveler's Room while you visit Toronto. It is a smaller sized room with a double bed (lots of stuff can fit under the bed), and a desk in a 3 bedroom apartment occupied by me (your host) and perhaps 1 or 2 other travelers.
We provide you with towels, bedding and WiFi. We will share a kitchen where you will be assigned a cupboard for any dry goods you may have and a shelf in the refrigerator There are coffee, tea and basic cooking supplies provided. Check out our shared free shelf. The condiments in the refrigerator are also shared so help yourself. Want to take a little picnic with you for the day? There's baggies, tin foil and saran wrap for you to use. Please consider this to be your home in Toronto. If you are on a budget, this is great because you can save a lot of money by preparing your food at home!
There is a lovely shared shower and toilet. There have been times when I have a full house but never really had problems with bathroom requirements. If you are leaving early to catch a bus or anything just let me or the other guests (if there are any) know you will need to be in the bathroom at a specific time. Each guest room has its own bathmat as well as towels and facecloths which you may keep in your room or leave in the bathroom. Everybody's towels are different so no chance it will be mixed up! There is a tall glass for your toothbrush in the bathroom cupboard if you want to use it.
Our place is like an oasis in a bustling city. It is a place for stays of 3 nights or more.
Our location is wonderful and considered by many to be downtown. Check us out on a map. If you are energetic you may walk east to Kensington Market, Chinatown Little Korea, Little Italy, I have learned that if you are German, you can walk almost everywhere!
You will be residing in Little Portugal! Walk west to Roncesvalles (Poland) and High Park. Go south to Queen St West for gallery hopping or to visit local retailers, the CNE and the lake. If you are really energetic you could walk to Casa Loma, the ROM, the Art Gallery, football (both European and American), baseball basketball, hockey, Downtown shopping, Hockey Hall of Fame, ferry docks, Rogers Centre and the ACC, Harbourfront and the CN tower. Or you could use the transit just outside the door! It runs 24/7!
Go out the front door to Casa Dos Acores Way (College Street) which is bustling with activity, shops, street cars, restaurants, coffee shops, take your pick Portuguese, Persian, Vietnamese, Canadian, and Brazilian. You will love the food! Go out the back door to Dragon Alley Lane where you will get European feel in the community gardens which are located in a parking lot. Members of our Mufti-cultural community are very active in the gardens. You are welcome to take your coffee or meals outside to eat or just sit and pass the time with the neighbours.
This is a different type of destination than the hotels offer. You get to be part of a community if you like.
You will be able to rent bikes to take you around the city just a block away from the apartment. For the adventurous souls, this might be for you.
The sightseeing is great but there are lots of things to do in this magnificent city. I am happy to help you find whatever it is that will give you a 5 star vacation on a 2 star budget!

I am here to help you make this trip the best. Please take a look on the internet for a magazine called NOW Toronto. It's (URL HIDDEN) magazine and if you start now you can maybe catch a play or a game or some future event. It comes out on Thursday every week. The first Thursday of each month the Art Gallery of Ontario has an evening event. It costs very little and you get access to the gallery as well as opportunity to hear fabulous music and eat great food. Check it out at the AGO First Thursday. Be sure to read the description of who is playing! It is best to get your tickets in advance and the event almost always sells out. I will give you a copy of NOW when you arrive.

I am easy going. What I love about Toronto is the freedom to go out and do a lot of fun things. It seems as though there is always something going on. What I like about Airbnb is that I get to meet people from all over the world.
