We stayed at Nancys place while in the area for my sons marine corp graduation. This was perfect because it was about a 5 min drive to the base for early morning activities and in a quiet peaceful area to rest in complete comfort while not at the base. Everything we needed was within a short drive. The room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Nancy was wonderful and was willing to go out of her way to provide anything we needed.
Warm and welcoming hospitality! Dave was so kind to show us around. He went above and beyond to give me a recent paint stick of the wall color in our room. I love the color and plan to use it in our home remodel. Your linens and bedding are the highest of quality and it was a welcome treat to feel spoiled for a few days! Dave even shared his favorite fishing spots with us to guarantee some luck- sure enough, we caught a few fish and baby sharks! We spent a lot of time on the quiet, comfortable covered porch- even in a rainstorm it was relaxing and peaceful. During our evenings on the porch, the singing cicadas added to the serene and peaceful setting. We visited for only two days, but felt as though we were gone for a week-- a perfect getaway! We ended our stay with a delicious lunch at Moon Doggies. I wish we stayed longer to eat there more often- it was amazing! We look forward to spending time with you again soon.
Nancy and her husband Dave were super helpful and nothing less than lovely. The room was beautiful, not to mention immaculate. The service and quality of the stay was matched only by the service and quality of the food and waiting staff in the cafe below. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is in search of a place to stay near Parris Island given its centrally placed location near the base, or anyone who is simply staying in the Port Royal area.
When we arrived at the Bed and Breakfast we were greeted with a friendly smile and Dave asked if he could take our bags. The first impression was wonderful. The place was very clean with hardwood floors thru out. The decorations were warm and inviting which gave us the urge to relax and take our shoes off and enjoy our weekend stay. The bed was very comfortable. The wash cloth and towels were of high quality. The kitchen area was nice with snacks and breakfast provided. Nancy was available when we arrived and she offered suggestions on places to go and eat. That was helpful. We stayed for two days and needed our trash taken out after the first day. But we managed. We also ended up going out with wrinkled clothes because she failed to bring the iron when she said she would. While everything else was lovely, I'm sure we won't be back because we had a situation that I attempted to make right and Nancy acted childish in response. I used semi permanent color on my hair 2 weeks ago. I'm not sure if the salt water reacted negatively to my hair, but some residue was left on the pillow cases. I emailed Nancy letting her know that if she bleached it, it should come out and I apologized. She replied saying I should pay $50 for the high quality cases, because it didn't work. I was preparing to pay her the money but first asked for a picture because I know for a fact bleach removes semi permanent color. I've gotten it out of things myself. She first agreed to send me the pictures but when I reminded her to send them, she flipped out on me, making me to be the villain when all I was trying to do was right the wrong. I don't think there is anything wrong with asking for a picture when someone says they tried to clean a PILLOWCASE and asks you for FIFTY DOLLARS to replace them. Lesson learned. Good luck to her and her establishment. Too bad the good experience turned sour.

It is unfortunate that Ebony was not happy with her stay. My husband and I work very hard to please our guests and give them an enjoyable experience. There are, however, some pertinent details that have been omitted from Ebony's "story". I was in the room that Ebony stayed in less than an hour after her check out time (noon) and was quite shocked to find my pillows covered in dark brown stains. I assumed the stains were some type of hair product so I immediately placed them in a bucket with a bleach solution to soak. The room was otherwise tidy except for some trash overflowing the containers. At 10:15 that same evening, approximately 10 minutes after receiving Airbnb's prompt to write a review, I received a text from Ebony..."Thanks for everything. I forgot to mention, I apologize for the pillow case. I put a semi-permanent color in my hair and it got on the case. I hope it will come out with bleach. I wore a hair scarf but it didn't help. So sorry:( " The next day I inspected the pillowcases and they were greatly improved but still not usable in my guest rooms. I should mention that these pillow cases, as well as the rest of my linens, are very high quality and I take great pride in making a luxurious bed. I know things happen and I'm not talking about a few little spots. The one pillowcase (on the top pillow) was completely covered and the second (bottom pillow) had stains on both ends of the case. I would probably have let the matter slide and just "eat" the damaged linens but was appalled at her cavalier attitude towards the whole issue. I told her I was confused why she would color her hair anywhere except at home or in a salon since it is so messy. First she denied damaging 2 cases and insisted it was only one. She then went on to tell me this had never happened to her pillowcases and that she had actually colored her hair 2 weeks earlier. She also questioned how a pillowcase could cost $50. I explained (in detail) that there were 2 cases damaged and they were fine linens, not your run-of-the mill bedding. Now I read in her review that "salt water reacted negatively to my hair". Wow, that's odd. Meanwhile, she wants me to send her proof that the bleaching of the linens didn't work. I asked her repeatedly to just do the right thing and pay for their replacements. Instead I got "it was an accident I didn't foresee costing $50 that I don't have lying around at the moment. But that's fine, you will get your money." Additionally, I do not put irons in my rooms because of the fire hazard but they are available upon request. Ebony texted me the morning after her arrival and asked me for an iron. I replied that I could get her one when I come in at 10:00 (we do not live on the property). At 9:45 I got another text from her asking if she had missed us. I was confused but responded that we were on our way. We arrived at 10:05 and left the iron outside the room door because they were not there. Now I see in her comments that she said I would be there in 10 minutes with the iron. I have the text, it clearly states 10:00, not 10 minutes. I believe she misread the text. Regarding the excessive trash they were able to "manage", we do not provide daily room service unless requested. We would have happily removed the trash had we known it was a problem. We go to great lengths to respect our guests privacy and NEVER enter a room during a stay unless requested.
