Are you looking for a place with character and all home comforts you could wish for? Welcome to Aisling Cottage.
This charming cottage is in Broadford, Skye's second-largest village, with several shops and a variety of restaurants. A beautiful beach where you can find fossils and spot otters is nearby. There are plenty of great walks and scenic drives. This location is a great base for exploring the spectacular island of Skye and the nearby mainland.
Bookings are for a week, Sat to Sat.
A old crofter’s cottage in the vernacular style, Aisling has been sensitively modernised with great attention to detail to provide you with every home comfort and luxury. The works of local artists are displayed on the walls, and thoughtful personal touches around the cottage enhance the feeling of a home from home. We regret the cottage is not suitable for children.
The kitchen has a dishwasher, fridge-freezer, washing machine and MP3 player, plus all the equipment you need to create gourmet meals from quality local produce. You can enjoy the view across to Beinn na Cailleach, the iconic mountain above the village, as you cook. We'll explain the legend of the Norwegian princess buried there when we welcome you to the cottage.
The dining room looks out over the garden. The comfortable sitting room has a selection of books and TV with digital freeview. A corner window enjoys stunning views over Broadford Bay and several islands to the mainland beyond.
We have just added a lovely new sun-room, replacing the porch in the photos, where you can enjoy the morning sunshine as you eat your breakfast while gazing across the bay to the mainland hills beyond.
Aisling is centrally heated throughout, keeping you snug and warm whatever the time of year. There is wireless broadband available throughout the cottage.
Surrounded by green fields and very private, Aisling nestles in a peaceful crofting township on the outskirts of the village. It’s an easy walk to the amenities of Broadford, Skye’s second largest village. Here you will find a choice of restaurants serving fresh local seafood and other delicacies, a supermarket, craft shops, artists’ gallery, petrol, bank and more. The nearest pub is just a short stroll down a leafy lane bordered by a stream.
A sandy beach with fossils and otters is close by. Boat trips to take you whale and sea eagle spotting are a short drive away. Aisling Cottage is ideally placed for walkers and climbers, with many rewarding local walks and easy access to Skye’s spectacular Cuillins. On our bookshelves we provide extensive local information on the island and its wonders. South Skye is not far from the mainland, making it simple to get to and well-placed for exploring the near mainland as well as the island itself, with the famous Eilean Donan Castle and Plockton village less than half an hour away.
Search for our own website using the cottage name, for even more information. We look forward to welcoming you.
