Enjoy the delight of a magical mid 20th century 2nd floor apartment in a brilliant central location. This "Conran" inspired Retro home is located in a heritage building right in the heart of Alicante next to the central market.

If you have ever wondered how your parents or even grandparents used to live in their time but could never get to try it yourself. Well now you can! Retro boutique is a "Conran / Habitat" inspired 1950's / 60s / 70's city centre apartment. Much of the furniture fixtures and fittings are original restored pieces from the era to give you that amazing "through the looking glass" view of a fantastic and inspired period of recent modern history. Retro Boutique is located in an Art Nouveau / Modernist building constructed during the beginnings of the 1920's set right in the heart of the city behind the exquisite central market. The outside double aspect façade offers you a classical style bow window with foliate gables, festoon ribbon cornices and 5 other balconies or balconets all similarly adorned.
The apartment is located on the second floor up the easy original staircase. Heritage building status means no lift.
The apartment consists inside of 2 double bedrooms with 1 single bedroom located off the first main bedroom and has a maximum capacity of 5 Guests.
As you enter to the right is the first double bedroom with a separate single bunk room leading off to the right. To the left along the passage passing the second double bedroom to your right, is the ample kitchen diner and living room with plenty of space to relax. The bar kitchen is a restored original 1950's Formica design and was hand made by the previous owner. There is a large gas and electric stove with sink to one side and all the cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils and pots you could want. The fridge / freezer is from 1978 and is in as new condition. Off the dining area is the shower room with toilet and sink and cupboards. Off the kitchen is a gallery patio where there is a washing machine, sink and clothes line. The living room contains two original retro shelf units one of which contains a mirrored bar and the other the TV / router etc. Lighting is provided by a retro ceiling unit and Italian Arc light.
With the beach a short walk away at the end of the "Rambla" you can wander down with your coffee / wine or picnic at any time. Or you can jump on the tram and head off to the even larger "Playa de San Juan".
It is possible to park a car in the street / plaza outside and in the streets surrounding but it can be time consuming finding a space. Please be aware that some of the zones are pay zones. The great thing is you won't require a car in Alicante and in particular this central location, as it is well served with all the transport services you will ever need. The Art Nouveau Central Market is a just around the corner and provides an amazing shopping experience. The two main avenues with boutique type shops are very close.

I will meet you on arrival and hopefully on departure. If you have travel difficulties just ring, text or Airbnb message me with an updated ETA. I am available during your stay should you have any queries. Again, just contact me and I will come round usually within the hour. If we can't see each other on departure just leave the keys on the table, turn off the lights and heating and slam the door shut.

An AVE high speed train goes to Madrid throughout the day. It is easy to arrange an early trip up there for shopping and eating and still be home in time for dinner. The traditional old centre of Madrid is just fantastic. It is one hell of a day out!

If you are looking for a place to stay in Alicante, this is your option:) The location is great. It has a view on a small square. Market is just a block away and you can find all sorts of local fruits and vegs and meats and cheeses there. We walked everywhere, to the beach, to the castle and other places. The place is spacious. There were two of us, so for us it has been more than enough. Kitchen is well equipped, if you like to cook something. If you don't - there is a plenty of places around to enjoy local and international cuisine. The apartment itself is stylish and atmospheric, so it has been a pleasure to come back there every time after walking through the city and visiting sites in the neighborhood, sitting at the kitchen, or at the balcony with a bottle of wine... There is a bar downstairs, which might produces a bit of a noise, but my advice is to keep with the rhythm of the city. Take a nap during the day, or hit a beach, and enjoy late evening meal or drink inside or outside. Give yourself a few extra hours to sleep in the morning:) I will totally recommend this place to stay in. David is a great host, who genuinely cares about his guests, feel free to ask him any questions. David, thanks again, I will check your place first next time I will go back to Alicante!

Davids apartment were really something else! Very cozy and we felt like home at once. David was really good and easy to communicate with, we always got really quick answers! We got so good help with things for our 2-year old daughter. David fixed both a babybed and a babychair for us! We really recommed this place, you woun't be disappointed!

Heel mooi ingericht appartement, ruim, licht en proper, met verborgen hoekjes en leuke details. Interessante buurt, vlakbij de Mercado en enkele leuke bars. Dicht genoeg bij het centrum, alles op wandelafstand. David is een zeer aangename gastheer! Topadresje, niet het goedkoopste maar zeker waar voor je geld.

I had a lovely time and David was very friendly and welcoming, waited for us to arrive and made the check in very easy. Quick to respond to questions, and the location was great being right in the centre of town. Would highly reccommend.

David was an outstanding host. Very easy to communicate with and he addressed concerns ( hot water) immediately. His apartment is ideally located and a short walk to everything in Alicante! We would most definitely stay at his place again!

It's easy to see why David is a super host. He met us on time, insisted on helping with our bags and has a very easy manner. His apartment is as described and is probably the cleanest apartment we have ever stayed in! It's light and with a good view of the local plaza. It is furnished in retro and everything works, which I was very impressed by. The apartment is fully equipped, David even left us a bottle of fizz, with which to celebrate new year. We also found tea bags, coffee, sugar and a range of cooking items. All in all just what we needed. The apartment is perfectly situated. Alicante's main food market is 2 minutes away and the adjacent plaza to the market has a lovely cafe culture. The C6 airport bus spot is about 5 minutes walk as is the Mercado tram station. The main train station is about a 10/15 minute walk. Alicante is a really lively city with great cafes, bars, places to eat and people watch. The beaches are very clean and we swam even in December and January! All in all we would would highly recommend David and his apartment. Sally-Ann and David

I have lived in Alicante for 18 years. Like my home town in England, something always draws me here and when I am away I miss it very much. I love all things Art Nouveau or Art Deco. The styles are timeless, useful and beautiful. They adapt so well to our modern busy lives. I have a wonderful family who all share my passion. Luckily!
