Welcome to La Boca Beach Village!

A small seaside village conveniently located only 5 km from lively Trinidad and 7km to World famous Ancon Beach, here's La Boca.

La Boca Beach village boasts a beach — La Playita —, a small restaurant and bar, two paladares, a small grocery store (in pesos only), and the fishing boats anchored on the river. Most of all, the scenic Escambray mountains in the background and sea for miles of water to see.

La Boca's little beach is at the mouth of the Guaurabo river, where the fishing boats are parked; it’s almost in its original state and it constantly changes with the tides and the water coming from the river. Some describe La Playita as a little “pebbly” but with its many coves and tranquil waters, it offers great snorkeling and consistently delivers gobsmacking sunsets. Do not miss it! The nearest gold sand beaches are Maria Aguilar, Piscina Natural, and famous Ancon Beach.

Getting Around
• For airport transfers and to arrange reliable transportation in Cuba, we recommend ViaHero. Search for ViaHero online, click on the Contact Us tab and let Greg know Tanya from GAO referred you for a 5% discount.
• Rent a bike to ride to Playa Aguilar or further Playa Ancon (seaside flat easy road but without shade) or all the way to Trinidad (gradual, gentle uphill to go; easy going down to return);
• By taxi to/from Trinidad or Playa Ancon: 5CUC

-You MUST print your travel itinerary. Here you will find the Casa's address, host’s contact information, and the reservation number. Present this to the host upon arrival. If you have any issues while in Cuba like you will be doing a late check in or can’t find the property, please contact the host directly to the phone numbers provided in the travel itinerary.
- -Please note that the descriptive title on the listing may not be the exact name of the property. Please make sure to take with you the Casa's address and telephone number provided in the travel itinerary.

-If this is your first trip to Cuba then please be aware Cuban homes on average are very modest compared to homes and standards of living/comforts in the 1st world countries.

- There are refrigerators available for your use. For an additional fee, we offer bottled water, beer, sodas, cocktails, breakfast, lunch, dinner, laundry, and other services. Just place your request and we will try to accommodate as much as there is availability. Gluten Free, Vegan and Vegetarian menu is available.

-Do you need help arranging transportation or planning the rest of your trip? ViaHero uses locals to arrange and plan your trip. Use discount code GAOFIVE for a 5% discount.

- Calling a cab for you is a courtesy offered to you by your host. Hosts are glad to assist you but are not responsible for any transportation issues.

-Internet is only available in designated wifi spots throughout the island. The nearest wifi is in Trinidad. You will need to purchase a $2 ETECSA card that will allow 1 hour of connection.

-The government of Cuba requires licensed guesthouses to record their guest's passport info, along with arrival and departure dates, and report it to the local immigration offices within 12hrs of their guest's arrivals and pay the required fees. So upon your arrival please present your passports to the host so they can create a log. This is the law and is normal for ALL licensed guesthouses in Cuba, though some homes skip this procedure to save money on fees.

Thanks for booking with us and please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any additional questions or requests prior to your arrival.

Vacation spot for Cubans so if you want to get away and be near the water with locals this place is for you. Lovely large clean home 1/2 block from beach. You can rent bikes; walking or taking taxis or tourist buses easy too. Walk just 10-15 minutes up road toward Playa Ancon for crystal clear snorkeling - as good as on the snorkel trip you can take at Playa Ancon. Don't worry about waiting in line in Havana for Coppelia ice cream you can get it at their La Boca stand for pesos and its absolutely delicious. Easy access to Trinidad de Cuba. On our last night Tuto's family made a delicious Cuban dinner for us, with the freshest Red Snapper we have ever had, our best meal in all of Cuba!

Hello Jeannine, We are so glad you enjoyed your stay in La Boca. It is very lively these days, during "Cuban Summer"! If you come during Winter you will see a huge difference in the ambiance of the village. Quiet but still absolutely charming. Thanks for booking with us and we look forward to host you again. This is an awesome airbnb. You basically have your own home with three bedrooms and 4 beds (plus individual AC units.) You can't cook in the kitchen, but Lily & Hanoi make an outstanding breakfast (5 CUC) and dinner (10 CUC) of either shrimp, fish, meat, or lobster that was caught that day. Tito owns the house and lives next door while you are staying there. Him and his friends are great, they help get any rentals you could want and have the best recommendations on Taxis and restaurants. Hanging out with them helps make you feel like you aren't a tourist (if you speak some Spanish.) The location is great because you are a 5 minute taxi ride to Trinidad in one direction or a 5 minute taxi to Playa Ancon in the other direction. Although, I suggest renting a bicycle, it is cheaper and much more enjoyable for seeing the sights. In the end, I hope you love your stay here as much I did! Thank you Lily, Tito, Hanoi, and Falcao!

Hostal Tuto is a very simple accommodation - three rooms with shared bathroom. There is some chairs outside on the porch but the yard doesn't look like a place you wanna spend your time in. Hosts doesn't speak English and are not very communicative, but are very helpful. The breakfast(5 cuc) and lunch(10 cuc)was good, a lot of food. Playa la Boca has some beach with dark sands but mostly it's rocky cost. If you're here for playa Ancon it's better to stay in Trinidad. Taxi costs the same. The price for these rooms was too high, 10 cuc would be ok.

Hello Dace, We have forwarded your recommendations to the host. La Boca Beach is always described as pebbly, which makes it great for snorkeling. Yes, in Cuba very few people speak Spanish (we recommend all non Spanish speaking travelers to carry a dictionary). We are glad you enjoyed your time at Hostal Tuto. Tanya E.

I've had the best meals in this stay. Period. The hostess is a fantastic cook and for the bargain price of 12CUC per person, you can probably get one of the more extravagant meals you'll encounter in Cuba period. The main issue lies in the water pressure - the shower pressure is near unusable, and the sink/toilet work inconsistently. With that said, the hosts are incredibly hospitable and are doing their best within limited resources.

Hello Juewon, Thanks so much for booking with us-- We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and those amazingly good (and we proudly take "extravagant" too!) meals. Main ingredient is "mucho amor". Come back and see us!

The house is very basic even for Cuba’s casa particular standard. The couch is held together by sticky tapes. The rooms are dark and the rest of the interior has had their best time long ago. There is only a small veranda where we can sit with hardly any view. There are a lot of barking dogs in this neighborhood. The apartment is indeed near the beach but this is a dirty beach site with a lot of rocks where we could not sunbath or swim. The palm tree parasols in the picture are not on the beach but at a restaurant which has already been closed. There is a rundown hotel nearby, we think that La Boca is not the place to go. Lili, the lady who cooked (not the owner) is lovely and cooked excellent meals.

Hello Timor, We are sorry that your expectations of Tuto's House and La Boca beach are not what you were expecting. Perhaps doing a little research on your destination prior to booking would have shown you that La Boca beach is described as "pebbly" beach, that it is located at the mouth of a river at a tiny fishing village. The Casa is exactly what is shown in the pictures, and La Boca is a real-local community where Cubans go about their day but is a lot quieter and relaxing than anywhere you may find in Trinidad. Plus, this location is the nearest anyone can stay to all of the gold sand beaches of Ancon area. As everywhere in Cuba, public facilities need maintenance but nothing we can do about it. We are sorry that you truly did not enjoy the warmth of the people, the charm of the village, the amazing clear water, the scenic mountain range and the spectacular sunsets. Lily is a great host and we are glad you enjoyed her amazing cooking skills. Thanks for visiting us.

The house was tucked away on a residential street but just a couple houses away from the beach. It was clean and simple. Lili was our very best part of this house. She cooked for us and took special care! She even made a gorgeous fish and lobster dinner and spelled our names on the fishes with veggies. We really loved her. Staying at La Boca was also nice. The beaches were simple but clean and the water was great. It was a short ride into Varadero and I highly recommend making a visit to the waterfall at Parque Cubano national park.
