Noks Home Stay; Is situated in Tambo Village right next to Guguletu Township. Offers a township experience for all of our guest. Ideal for those who would like to explore a township lifestyle, food and history.
This also include; neighborhood tour, cooking lessons during supper, making African beads with Mama Noks, and learn IsiXhosa which is our first language. Partnering with other Mamas from the community, we accommodate groups to a max of 40.

Guests enjoys their private room within the house which they are hosted from. The house is family orientated - where our guest become part of the family and have a chance to experience the in's and out of the township lifestyle. From preparing food to bathing.

We do a lot of walking, guests being accompanied by a local, experience the surroundings of community, visiting community hall, local churches and the famous Mzoli. Please do note there are some tour that are at an extra cost.
If one is using public transport, we recommend Uber as the most reliable way of transport and most of my guests have had no negative experience before.
We are a diverse community and are a welcoming bunch. We love and respect each other and that is something we would appreciate from our guests.

Mama Noks is a Homestay situated in Tambo Village which is situated next to Township Gugulethu. Mama Noks started her Homestay nine years ago. Guest have the opportunity to stay at her house to experience the culture and the warm hospitality of a township home. This means that you sleep in her house, Mama Noks is a very good cook so she prepares and shows you how to make a lovely African meal, teaches you the basics in Xhosa and other traditional African culture.
Mama Noks already has 19 houses with different ladies from the community therefore ; she can accommodate groups up to 36 persons.
The costs are ZAR 450,- P.P this includes; Diner, Breakfast, Small/walk Township Tour, some basic phrases in Xhosa and Traditional African ways of life.
