It's time to escape from the hustle of everyday life.
Perfect RUSTIC retreat for family "get-a-way from everything" in a simple but comfortable cabin that backs up to National Forest. Listen to the bubbling stream and watch wildlife from the front sun-room. Relax in large great room with fireplace and a wood stove to keep warm in the winter plus A/C for chilling in the summer.
DVD player (hunting videos), books and games are here for your use.
Reclaim up to 80% of your cleaning fee*
Water from the faucet is NOT potable. Drinking water is provided in dining room. Plug in the water dispenser if you want cold water.
Pets: No indoor pets. There is a Run-line you can clip onto, but no shelter.
No Smoking: Smoking is prohibited in the house and on the enclosed front porch. If you choose to smoke outside, please do not leave cigarette butts or associated litter and be cautious of all the leaves and woods.
Nature: Fire pit. Swing sets. Small creek. NOTE: across the creek is private land. However, George Washington National Forest borders the back of the property.
Bedrooms: Bedrooms are not private. Curtains hang in the doorways.
Pillows and blankets supplied at no charge.
Heating: Electric heat, woodstove, and fireplace. The fireplace is blocked off in the living room. Instructions for use are on the fridge.
Kitchen Use: We welcome your use of the kitchen, but request you leave it in as good or better condition than you found it. Paper products, silverware, cooking utensils are in dining room cabinet, along with limited spices and seasonings. Cleaning supplies are under the kitchen sink.
K-cups included. If you are serious coffee drinkers, it would probably be good if you supplement the Keurig supply.
Grilling: Currently no grill. We sometimes use the fire ring (rock) in the front yard.
Septic System: Please do not flush anything beyond human waste and toilet paper.
WiFi: No phone service. Period. In an emergency, the Mountain View General Store has a pay phone - and gas, deli, and supplies. Must drive 15-20 minutes for reliable cell coverage.
Safety features: Fire Extinguisher, smoke detector
Trash: Please leave all trash bagged and in the large trash can in the front porch. Trash can also be left at Shen Valley Disposal just south of Churchville.

Firewood from the woodshed is for use by owner and guest alike.
The first aid kit is located under the bathroom sink.
Cleaning supplies are located under the kitchen sink.
There is a sort of Mud-room between the kitchen and the bathroom. A broom and mop will be here for your use, but this space contains our personal things and maintenance items. Use our things from this room if there is an emergency.

We do not have our primary residence at this location. It could take over 1 hour to personally come to the cabin. Please note that this cabin is 15-20 min from reliable cell phone service.

Do not drink the tap water!
Must uncover chimney before use. That metal plate is our heat conserver and "pest deterer".
~Make beds using mattress protectors and sheets. Do NOT sleep on the mattress pads alone. You will find bedding in tubs in each bedroom. ~Freely use the blankets and pillows.
When checking out:
~If you plugged in anything, unplug it. If you had to turn on the water and/or water heater at the breaker box, Turn it off.
~If you used the fireplace, replace the metal barrier securely.
~Adjust all heaters to previous settings. Reminder sheet will be found on the refrigerator door.
*To reclaim $40 of the cleaning fee:
~Wipe kitchen and bathroom surfaces with Clorox wipes.
~Sweep and vacuum.
~Mop kitchen and dining room, bathroom, and other spaces as needed.
~Take all trash with you.
~Attempt to leave the cabin in as good or better shape than when you arrived.
To reclaim an additional $60:
~Supply your own sheets, pillowcases, and towels and have not slept on the mattress pads and/or blankets alone. Pillows and blankets are to be used freely WITH your sheets.
