THE INGLE is a gorgeous little 1 bedroom bolt hole and ideal for active outdoor couples. This coastal view cottage, ‘on The Rock’ in Barmouth really ticks all the boxes. Sensational Sunsets, breath taking views over the glistening ocean, harbor, Mawddach estuary, with the Cader mountain range in the foreground. Parking pass included. My place is good for couples and solo adventurers.

THE INGLE is a gorgeous little 1 bedroom bolt hole and ideal for active outdoor couples. Pet Free and Smoke free! This coastal view cottage, ‘on The Rock’ in Barmouth really ticks all the boxes. Sensational Sunsets, breath taking views over the glistening ocean, harbor, Mawddach estuary, with the Cader mountain range in the foreground. Dating back from the 18th Century the former fisherman’s cottage is perched on “The Rock” - the historic conservation area where the quaint fascinating jumble of steps and terraces look out over the Estuary or down to the harbour below. Winding their way up the hill giving you a taste of what’s to come when you gaze out at the 180 degree view of the sea from the cottages’ sunny little terrace.

Miles of sweeping sandy beaches and stunning walks are just a stone’s throw from the cottage. As well as the stunning location, the cottage is only a 5 minutes’ walk to Barmouth town centre with its shops and good pubs/eateries. The cottage is accessed via a path or the medieval stone steps off the main street near the harbour, so it’s not suitable for guests with mobility issues. The steps are not particularly steep and it only take a few minutes to walk up to the property, any reasonably active person, of any age will not have a problem. There is no designated parking, but guests have a parking permit for the main car park 400m away at no extra cost to you.

With a full renovation at the end of 2016 “The Ingle” gives a modern contemporary feel, including central heating and mainly double glazing, but maintaining its rustic original charm. White washed walls, beams and the original slate floor sit alongside a modern kitchenette with combination oven, fridge and 2 ring ceramic hob.

In the open plan living area, there is a comfortable sofa (with the added benefit that it converts to a sofa bed. We can accommodate one child for a £35 supplement ) which looks through the patio doors onto the patio area and out to sea, a small dining table and chairs, bookcase, radio with iPod docking, a smart TV with curved screen and freeview giving access to many channels, and of course free WIFI completes the lounge area.

Up the space saving stairs to the glass paneled landing leads to the small but very modern en-suite bathroom featuring a mains corner shower, toilet and basin. The bedroom has a double bed where in the morning you can enjoy coffee gazing through the window out to Cardigan Bay. A dressing table with drawers and mirror, bedside lamps and clothes hangers complete upstairs.

There is no doubt this is a small compact property but it offers all of the convenience needed with modern living, sharing a bottle of wine sitting on the terrace watching the sun set over the twinkling ocean right in front of you is simply magical.

Surrounded by The Snowdonia National Park, The Ingle is ideally situated for that getaway holiday. With stunning coastal and inland walks, cycling, fishing, sea kayaking, coasteering, just lazing on the sandy beach, climbing the mountains of Snowdonia or just wandering down to some lovely pubs and restaurants, The Ingle is perfectly situated for you to enjoy.

Minimum price per any stay £199 applies.

Great view and lovely compact accomodation - just enough for two. Please note Iains details about access, we felt a lot fitter by end of our stay.

As described, this is a small but perfectly formed property in an amazing location, with stupendous views of estuary town and sea.

Very nice cottage with lovely views. It is quite a walk up to the cottage as described, but will worth it. Fine for two.

This is a cottage with character and a wonderful location with great views over the top of Barmouth towards the sea and estuary. The cottage is big enough for a couple with a compact kitchen. Barmouth is a good base for exploring the area and has numerous shops. cafes and restaurants. Access from the town is up some steep lanes and paths and might not suit those with mobility issues.

Good bijou cottage as described. Definitely need to be fit as it is steep in places up to the cottage but the views are wonderful. Nice and quiet and we really enjoyed our stay
