I was looking for a room to visit my my husband, a firefighter at the Chetco Bar Fire. Cheryl was very flexible and patient as I waffled between staying 1 night or 3, and when I wasn't able to make arrangements until late. She offered me a room for her lowest price to make sure I was able to get accommodations. I would stay here again!

Hello Emily, I do hope husband is back home now and all is well. I am glad your stay was great! A little confusion as I was at work and I did not communicate well enough about the fluidity of your room and date changes, but all worked out with least bit of confusion! Hope to see you again when you can stay longer, bring baby and enjoy the southern Oregon coast. It is a great place to visit! Thank You

Very beautiful bed and breakfast. It's like staying at the grandmother' house of a grandma you didn't have.

Charming b&b..the Rose Room was comfortable, spacious, well appointed. The house and grounds are a pleasure if weather gets funky. Brookings is amidst extraordinary coastline and easy access to the Redwoods. Lots of good food nearby. A superb long weekend.

Had a fantastic stay at the South Coast Inn. The house is beautiful and in a great location in central Brookings making it easy to stroll down to the main drag for lunch and dinner. Breakfast at the Inn was tasty! We left behind a baby blanket despite our best efforts to not leave anything behind, and we greatly appreciate them sending it to us. Will definitely stay here again, South Coast Inn is far more comfortable and homey than the nearby hotels.

The Room We stayed in the Rose Room for three nights, an upstairs room with a comfy bed and a nice view of the sea. This room is decorated with old-timey pastel floral scenes and wooden furniture. Not too hot even in the dead of summer. We went to bed to the sound an owl hooting and woke up to a fog-drenched ocean scene. The Wooden four-poster bed and soft, cloud-like mattress grabbed us like a giant clam and we slept way more than expected. The room comes with two robes, but they are a little too short and revealing for a grown man. The robes are important because the bathroom for the Rose room is across the hall; private but not en-suite, with a claw foot tub. The water pressure of the shower was a bit light and there was no shower head so it wasn't the best shower I've ever had, maybe better for baths. The Home South Coast Inn itself is 100 years old, so older home fixtures are to be expected, antique wall switches and whimsical light fixtures. The place is packed with antiques and doubles as a curiosity museum. Lots of living plants and running water in the living room. The location is a convenient walk from the 2-screen movie theater and a couple of restaurants. Sprinkled through the house are books with strong christian themes and motivational books like "Manifest your Destiny" and "Finding God in the Little Things." There were curious artifacts like a cassette on a bookshelf that claims to be a walking "eco tour" of the trail to a WWII bombing site up the Chetco. You can find the full story about the bombing and the Japanese submariner pilot turned peacemaker in a printout on the coffee table in the living room. You'll find his family sword in the town library a short walk away. The Hosts Cheryl is a sweetheart nurse practitioner who is very welcoming, and Miles was more of surfer dude handyman type guy who was painting the house during our stay and prepared breakfast: parfaits, french toast, fresh fruit and orange juice. We only made it to one breakfast out of two, so I don't know if he rotates the offering. Cheryl and Miles are very accommodating, allowing us to cook up some fish we caught on a deep-sea charter. I don't know if that was a one-off favor or standard policy, because Miles in particular was concerned about us leaving a smell in the house. We went to see the movie Dunkirk after dinner and when we came back there was no fishy smell. The kitchen was amazing, with lots of space and great big range with a powerful hood fan.

Thank You Luke, I feel that since you went thru all the fun to catch the fish, you certainly should be able to cook and eat them! The shower head is a "water saver" so I will look into changing that. Sounds like it is saving a bit too much water? Longer robes, got it!
