Overall our stay at Fernando's apartment was great. Fernando Jr. Greeted us the first day, than introduce us to Ada and Eddie the caretakers of the unit. Both are great hosts and guided us during our stay in Cuba. The first day the water wasn't running properly in the bathroom, I let Ada know and the very next day they took care of the problem. The water pressure wasn't too great but as time passed we got use to it. We felt very comfortable, it was a very quiet and safe building. We loved the location! It was just one block away from "Calle 23", on this Street you'll find... Copelia (large ice cream parlor), Cadeca (money exchange), Habana Pizza, Cafeteria 23f la parada ( my favorite ice cream place!), Habana Libre Hotel, wifi hotspot. It was walking distance, to buses, you can take bus#222 for 1 peso (moneda nacional) and it takes you directly to habana, it leaves you near the Capitolio. You can also take; almendrones (colectivos), taxi ruteros, we stood away from taxis as much possible as they tend to be costly when taken multiple times a day and they tend to over charge. If you are planing on traveling outside of Habana I would recommend Viazul, ($10 to Varadero, $12 to vinales) If you speak Spanish I would highly recommend to speak to locals as they tend to know best about travel, food, etc. They were very helpful and informative.
