This peaceful, sunny apartment is perched on a quiet hill in Echo Park, a hip and vibrant area on the east side of Los Angeles. Originally built for a silent film scriptwriter around 1923, it was recently transformed into a warm, streamlined space with contemporary and mid-century furnishings. Secluded and very private, the apartment is also in walking distance of great restaurants, cafes, wine bars, shopping, and nightlife.
Street parking is free and unrestricted, with the exception of street cleaning Thursday and Friday mornings.
At 500 square feet, the apartment is one half of a freestanding duplex. The sunny front rooms look out onto native California plants, palm trees, and cacti. You can glimpse the Hollywood sign from the front porch. The bedroom looks out over a small, shaded side yard. There are hardwood floors throughout, warm and uniform lighting, fast wifi, and a quiet air conditioning and heating system.
The queen-size bed features high-thread count cotton linens. A daybed sleeps one additional person comfortably; additional linens are available on request. The bathroom contains plenty of thick cotton towels, a hairdryer, and toiletries from C.O. Bigelow. Laundry facilities are available and detergent is provided.
If you'd like to cook, the new, fully stocked kitchen has everything you'd need. We provide complimentary whole bean coffee and a selection of teas. Guests also receive our list of favorite restaurants in Echo Park and greater Los Angeles.
