Treat yourself to a real Southern experience in our 1905 Victorian mansion in Midtown, the most desirable neighborhood of Atlanta just voted one of the ten best places to live in the country! Our home is meticulously restored and elegantly furnished, with amenities to meet your every need. Close to Piedmont Park, World Congress Center, America's Mart, Georgia Dome, Georgia Aquarium, College Football Hall of Fame, National Center for Civil and Human Rights, Symphony Hall, MLK Jr. Center, etc.

This gracious and elegant property is a unique short term rental and event space in the central part of downtown/Midtown Atlanta. It has been used for movie shoots, movie stars, business executives, company staff, families, and anyone desiring to stay in a beautiful home rather than a hotel.

The home has been meticulously restored with its original hardwood floors up and down, wood paneling in the foyer, stairs, and doors, stained glass windows on the stairwell, 8 fireplaces with tile surrounds (non operational), 12' ceilings, large rooms and open floor plan, and many original fixtures. It is elegantly furnished with high-end furniture; artwork; a beautiful new baby grand piano; flat screens TV's in the living room and all bedrooms; fine linens, dishes, and glassware; luxurious beds and absorbent towels; and a fully equipped kitchen.

On the main level are the welcoming foyer with its imposing staircase, living room with baby grand piano, gracious dining room with large crystal chandelier, open and spacious kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances including a commercial stove, full library, half bath/powder room, and mudroom. The library contains a Murphy bed and can be used as another bedroom when needed. It shares the upstairs hall bath. Double glass doors open to the private, fenced back yard.

Upstairs are three bedrooms: the master bedroom with king bed and walk-in closet, including the all marble master bathroom with jetted tub, stand alone glass shower, and double vanities; a second king bedroom with walk-in closet and hall bath; and a third queen bedroom with a full private bath. Additionally, attached to and part of the master suite is a sitting room/office with a double size sleep sofa. This is not a private room since it has no doors but is separated from the master by a small hallway. It is comfortable for one adult or two children.

There is a full bath in the upstairs hall with footed tub/shower for the middle bedroom. If guests are using the library downstairs with the Murphy bed, they would use the 1/2 bath downstairs and the hall bath upstairs. A washer and dryer are available in the upstairs hall. The main house can sleep 9-10 people based on double occupancy.

If you need more beds, you can also rent the carriage house. The carriage house is newer and more casual and can accommodate an additional 2 people. It houses a studio apartment with a king bed, living area/dining area/kitchenette combination, plus a separate full bathroom. It may be rented with the main house or separately. If rented separately, the rental is $250/night; if rented with the main house, the rental is $200/night. The entire property can accommodate 11-12 people.

Under the carriage house is a two-car garage, a very desirable amenity in this area of town where parking is limited and towing strictly enforced. The garage is included in the rental of the main house.

Our home is located withing walking distance of well-known Piedmont Park with its open spaces, walking trails, tennis courts, swimming pool, and frequent concerts, arts and crafts shows, and events. Also withing walking distance are many restaurants, bars, Caribou coffee, the popular Flying Biscuit cafe, Blake's on the Park, Ten, Subway, Smoothie King, dry cleaners, a nail salon/spa, hotels, and medical offices. Famous Peachtree Street is only two blocks away. The MARTA train system that services most of the city is a 5 1/2 block walk.

Closeby and within minutes are the Woodruff Arts Center, Symphony Hall, the High Museum, Atlanta Botanical Garden, the lovely restored Fox Theater, the Georgia Dome, Georgia World Congress Center, America's Mart, Centennial Olympic Park, Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coke, the new National Center for Civil and Human Rights, the new Football Hall of Fame, the William Bremen Jewish Heritage and Holocaust Museum, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Change, the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library, the Center for Puppetry Arts, the Children's Science Museum, Georgia Tech, Georgia State University, the Atlanta Braves Stadium, and the hip Little Five Points area.

A short drive away is the popular Buckhead area with its posh shops, fine dining, clubs, shopping at the upscale Phipps Plaza and Lenox Square, Chastain Park with a 3-mile jogging trail and golf course, and gorgeous mansions and residential neighborhoods.

Everything Atlanta is at your fingertips! You couldn't be more well located.

Guests have full use of the property. You will receive check in information two weeks prior to your stay. On occasion, the carriage house may be rented separately from the main house, but guests there have private access to come and go without disturbing guests in the main house.

Before you arrive, we send you check in and access instructions including the garage and the keys. The instructions include how to operate the alarm system. We leave a notebook containing information about the house as well as recommendations and directions for restaurants and other services such as grocery stores and drug stores. We are available 24/7 if you need assistance. We're happy to help with any questions or concerns you may have, including arranging for special services. You are free to enjoy your stay without interference from us. If we need to come by to fix something or let in a workman, we advise you in advance and try to schedule it at your convenience.

This is one of the most beautiful and highly sought after areas of Atlanta. Midtown was just voted one of the ten best places to live in the country! The neighborhood has wide, tree-lined streets and beautiful homes yet is within sight of the hustle and bustle of Midtown offices, hotels, restaurants, and bars. Its proximity to so many of Atlanta's major attractions makes it the ideal place to stay when business or pleasure brings you to the city.

The MARTA rail system is only 5 1/2 blocks away. On MARTA you can access most of the Atlanta area and all downtown/Midtown attractions. Uber and taxi service are a phone call away. A rental car is optional if you choose, and offstreet parking in the garage is a plus in this area of town where on-street parking is scarce.

The nightly rate quoted is for the main house only. There is also an 8% tax and a cleaning fee added to the rental. The carriage house can be booked separately. An additional $25 cleaning fee applies for the carriage house.

Several movie studios have used the home for shoots and several stars have stayed there.

We can provide other services upon request for an additional fee. Examples are catering, meal delivery, chef, daily housekeeping, concierge, and driver.

Nutzerprofil von KarenKaren ist ein Superhost.

My family is proud to own this property. I am an attorney of over 40 years, having graduated from Vassar College and the University of Virginia School of Law. I have also served for 29 years as trustee and the executive director of my family's private charitable foundation giving grants to underprivileged children in the metro Atlanta area. I play competitive tennis and sing in my church choir. I also serve on many boards of charitable organizations, private schools, and Georgia State University. I love to travel and read extensively. My passion is abused, neglected, abandoned, and homeless children.

My husband Dick is retired from 32 years as an executive with Panasonic Company in their consumer electronics division. He helps with repairs and keeping the books.

Our 30-year-old son Christopher is a real estate agent in Midtown and manages the property along with me. This house is his pride and joy.

We have all traveled the world with both Panasonic and as volunteers with a nonprofit we support called the Foundation for Hospital Art. We provide setup and staffing for PaintFests held in children's hospitals where the patients, their parents, doctors, nurses, staff, families, and friends or visitors to the hospital paint on pre-drawn, color-coded canvasses that when completed are put together to make a large mural that we touch up and donate to the hospitals to make them better places for healing. We also paint murals on the walls, hallways, nurses' stations, treatment rooms, or wherever the hospital staff asks for art. In addition, we paint butterflies on ceiling tiles so patients lying on their backs can see something beautiful rather than a bare wall.

We have high ideals and strive to give our guests the best experience possible, the same experience we would expect when we travel to high-class hotels around the world. We believe the guest is always right, and we will do whatever is necessary to make their stay memorable. We respond to problems and requests promptly and aim to satisfy our guests immediately.
