Bernie and Richard are kind, generous and welcoming hosts. The place is very beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay. We were there with a group of 14 adults and 4 children. Everything was good organized and we filled comfortable. We also had a delicious breakfast with fresh eggs from their chicken. Good job guys !!

Such an awesome experience. The location is easy to find. Beautiful room in a fabulous setting -- indoors and out. So much to see. The hosts have your every need covered. So comfortable and friendly This is defitely a home away from home. Loved the forest views. Absolutely everything was as described and more. Stay a few days to make sure and enjoy everything this property has to offer. Will definitely return on my next visit to the area.

Our three daughters and we stayed at Bernard and Venus's beautiful home for two nights. Our daughters were enthralled by the chickens and turkeys, the resident deer and the house "guard dog." We had a great time in The Nature Suite and we'd be happy to stay again when we're back in Roseburg!

Bernard's place is beautiful with amazing views over the valley, and truly a place for nature. The room was great and the bathroom was huge, with a private entrance and porch. We we able to cook in the main kitchen and Bernard supplied things for breakfast which was great. I'd definitely recommend staying here for trips to Crater Lake (as we did), as the west entrance makes for a relatively short trip from Roseburg, though not for us on this occasion due to forest fires!

There aren't enough good things to say about the home and hosts. Everything was beautiful, and the hosts were kind, generous, and genuinely good people. I would definitely recommend the room to anyone in the area.

One of the best homes away from home I've had. The road to the house might be a big climb, but the view and Bernard hospitality are well worth the trip itself. There's a fair bit to explore around the house, and while the surrounding city is a bit small, it has enough sights to suit an overnight stay or extended retreat in his house. It's a beautiful place my friends and I would love to return to.

Contractor that is passionate about land and old buildings being cleaned up to become the best they possibly can be. EVERY person that stays with us is investing in the future of Roseburg's waterfront for our economic and natural resources growth. All proceeds are reinvested into our properties to get children and families safely to the water. Our group Elk Island Trading Group has cleaned up over 2.2 miles of the South Umpqua River in downtown Roseburg and several unique historic homes that we want to share with the public. Come and stay in one of our rooms on the river and fish for Steelhead, bass and trout or watch the Salmon spawn late in the year. Other choices are possibly camping on Elk Island, or be in the mountains with our newer Madrone Grove home with many bedrooms adjacent to hundreds of acres of very beautiful Madrone trees. Come visit Roseburg on the water in downtown or on the mountain looking down at Roseburg backed up against the Madrone forest. All properties have been built, cleaned or renovated for folks to enjoy various experiences. Our customers get full and exclusive access to Elk Island which is a 15 acre island in the middle of Roseburg, and what we call West Bank which is the only area you can drive to, park and access the 6-8 acre inner city lake in our guest get much more than river or waterfront lodging. Whether you like nature watching, fishing, camping, boating or swimming Elk Island Trading Group properties and events is where you want to stay!!! Most of these properties are the Historic Deer Creek Settlement properties that were significant in the growth of the Northwest and our goal is to bring them to life again.
