Michael was great and very easy to communicate with. This was our first AirBnB experience so I was nervous. Michael's condo was great... very spacious, clean and the location was great. I recommend Michael and his condo to anyone! Thanks again Michael!

Michael's place at Portifino has the most amazing views! I could sit on the balcony all day. The multiple pools and beach access were fantastic and we enjoyed it all. The 3 bedroom/3 bath was perfect for 3 couples. We all loved having our own bathrooms. Michael was responsive and…

Beautiful panoramic views. Well appointed 3 bedroom accommodations for 6 adults ++. Kitchen had everything needed to prepare all meals and even cupcakes! Wonderful host! Portofino property is fabulous!

My issue is not with the actual condo I rented but with the owner himself. I initially reached out to the owner to check the availability. He told me the available dates and the price. He specifically stated the price "included taxes." He further said I need to book through A…

You can see many other great reviews by going to (Hidden by Airbnb) property numb (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) You have to take any review (good or bad) with a grain of salt. When this guest first inquired, I responded and told her the amount she would have to pay which included the taxes (state and county) which I assumed that AirBnB did not collect per their own guidance noted below. You can see this for yourself by going to the top right corner of the AirBnb page and typing in "occupancy tax" in the help window. But this is what is says: What are my options to collect and pay occupancy tax? As an Airbnb host, if you determine that you need to collect occupancy tax, you can collect Occupancy Taxes by either adding it within a Special Offer or asking your guests to pay it in person. In each case, it's important that guests are informed of the exact tax amount prior to booking. If you choose to collect Occupancy Taxes in person, please note that it should be collected only upon arrival and that we’re unable to assist with collection. Further, my condo is in Escambia County for which AirBNB does NOT collect occupancy tax. Again you can see this by going to the help area and typing in "Where does AIrbnb collect occupancy taxes" and you will see that they do not collect for Escambia County. She was advised 3 times prior to arrival that she would have to pay the occupancy tax but completely ignored that until after she checked in. At that time, I told her that I was coming to collect the tax. She responded by saying that she already paid the tax. This is true she paid the STATE tax. But she did not pay nor did Airbnb collect the Escambia County occupancy tax of 4% . She then proceeded to call Airbnb. They, in turn, called me and must have agreed with me since they credited me with the tax. They should have informed the guest that she owed it but unknown to me refunded her the Airbnb fee and paid me the tax. All that did was confuse the matter and make things difficult. I am a retired Navy Commander and know what is right and wrong. Her not paying the taxes was wrong. I only asked her for what she was legally required to pay. In the future, all taxes will be included in my rates so that this does not happen again. I have only been on Airbnb a short time so only have 2 other reviews. Please do not let this one misguided guest turn you against a wonderful vacation at my condo.
