You can expect a warm welcome to Mid-Century Oaks on arrival. We do appreciate your taking the time to say farewell when leaving, but understand if you have a very early/late flight or ferry--just let us know! Keys may be slipped through the mail slot in the adjacent house, down the side through the bamboo.
Schedules and weather permitting, there may be an opportunity to share a coffee/tea or libation in the adjacent gardens. Otherwise, we provide you with privacy and do not intrude. If you do need us, we're nearby next door (through the bamboo).

World traveller, designer, educator, artist, writer, archivist and consultant in intangibles and knowledge management, happily partnered for 19+ years. Rob and I are two very proud dads of an amazing, now grown daughter--delighted to be new granddads! We are back in Canada after nearly a decade abroad but are homesick for our place on the Chao Praya, Bangkok, missing friends there and in Cyprus, Moscow and Hong Kong.
It is GREAT to be home in beautiful British Columbia. That's where we have created Oaklands 8, a self-contained n/s one bedroom suite for your stay AND Mid-century Oaks, a self-contained n/s two bedroom suite plus loft and office area for up to four in the same great neighborhood. The Salish Sea Olympic Suite is opening just across the garden, available between long term renters.
Our hosting style is "accessible but unobtrusive". We trust that you'll respect the place and like to give you your privacy, yet also enjoy sharing tips on things to do locally. We're often out and about in the gardens--say hi, stop for a chat, perhaps time may permit a bit of a visit over a libation!
When traveling ourselves, my partner and I enjoy sharing food and conversation over a robust red or crisp white, learning about the history and cultures of places and people we visit. Often our trips involve some aspect of work, so don't be surprised to find us in jeans and t-shirt one day, bespoke suit the next.
