You will love it here, and you will have a great place at an excellent price in an area of rural Costa Rica that is authentic and unspoiled. Your water comes from a spring 2 miles in the jungle. It is pure and perhaps the best you have ever had. The air you breathe is generally blowing through 50 miles of jungle...areas with no cities, factories and no contamination. Beef here is grass fed, chickens free range. Many of the veggies are organic. The fruit is unbeatable.
We are not kid-friendly, pets not allowed, smoking not allowed. If you smoke on the terrace or in the house, your security deposit in full will NOT be refunded. Just a heads up. We want our next guests to come into Laughing Falcon with smiles on their faces, just as we want you to arrive.

Sometimes we are in Costa Rica, staying at White Hawk. When we are, we are there to help with any questions you may have. We can help with reservations for things to do and places to see. We will help in any way we can, but only when you want help or information. When we are not here, both White Hawk and Laughing Falcon are managed by Eduardo, just two blocks up the hill. He will help with anything, just as we do. And before you come we will send you 4 letters about driving here, directions to get to our house from either airport, driving hints, weather info, what to wear, money and more. A second letter will tell you about renting a car and what kind of car to be sure to rent. A third letter will list many things to do and places to go, so you can plan your trip well before you arrive, and the final letter will give you nearby places to eat...all within a short drive...and one you can easily walk to if you wish.

From your rental you will be able to access our Tropical garden with banana trees, coffee, pineapples, mangoes, and many flowering shrubs and jungle plants. There is the Rio Trail to Walden Falls, our private waterfall, Our private Jungle trail to Walden Falls, plus the Monkey Man Trail, where guests see monkeys about 60% of the time on an early morning walk.
Even though this is a studio apartment, it is well furnished and in an amazing location. We hope you will treat it as if it were your own and treat it with care and respect.
You have neighbors...both in your building (a young couple with a 4 year old child) who help us part time. They will try to be quiet early in the morning and you should do the same if you stay up late. White Hawk, the house house to your left as you arrive, is our home and is rented when we are not here. The ones staying there have paid almost three times more a night than you paid, and would also appreciate privacy. Please do not stare into their windows or infringe on their time in Costa Rica. They will do the same for you.
There is only room for 2 people.
You will need a car to stay here. (4WD HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) There is no readily available cab service.
Susan and I are retired. We love to travel, and about 3 years ago spent 8 weeks in Costa Rica. We fell in love with the climate, the people, the wildlife, the peace and quiet, the escape from the hectic pace and political fighting of the US. 2 days before we left, we discovered what I described as "The most beautiful place I had ever seen." there was a piece of property for sale and the day before we left, we made a commitment to buy. A year later we began construction (we blog about the building process at (treefi The house is pretty much finished and we decided to share our unique property and home with select others...sorry, only two at a time. We continue writing about Costa Rica and Florida and other times and places (tree John is a serious photographer and Costa Rica is a photographer's paradise. While John snaps the camera, it is Susan who provides an amazing eye, sighting birds, noticing flowers, seeing things that will make beautiful photos well before John sees them.
