The place has a great location in the center and is cozy, however ceilings are low so its uncomfortable for tall people. Also it is on the 4th floor with no elevator.
The kitchen is very cramped, but doable. It has an old type of electric stove which is very slow. Nice bathroom.
We had very big problems though with the host which started on arrival. After hearing on the phone that someone would arrive in a “few minutes”, we quickly unloaded everything onto the street and then my wife, young son and I waited in the rain, double parked for more than a half hour. Phone calls to the host went unanswered. The police told me that I was double parked and had to move the car. Of course I couldn’t move until we got in so I had to wait, hoping that the police wouldn't return. This was VERY frustrating.
When a young man slowly walked up to let us in, we were blamed for arriving 15 minutes early. Further, I got the line: “It is not my responsibility to help guests carry anything up the stairs”.
Inside, the heating and hot water didn’t work, the internet was broken and the old fridgerator made a loud sound, smelled like chemicals and stayed warm.
Messages on the Airbnb app were ignored and repeated phone calls to the number never answered. Finally I wrote the Airbnb help desk and after their action we heard from the host. The heating was fixed and the modem and fridge eventually replaced.
I have stayed in quite a few places on Airbnb and this was by far the worst host experience ever. I do NOT recommend staying with them.
Strasbourg, on the other hand was beautiful and charming and we had a wonderful time.
