Carola has a great apartment in a very lovely neighborhood. We requested this last-minute because it was too difficult to book a place for the entire week of the event Salone del Mobile, and as so we were exiting our previous listing, we needed to find another listing that was affordable for the following day. While most listings looked absolutely terrible, suggested even some illegal arrangements, and were abusively priced given the high demand for that week, Carola's listing appeared last minute to save the day! It was well priced, located conveniently close to the metro station that we would need everyday, and looked like a much prettier and higher quality listing than all the other options. We were not familiar with Milano, so we were worried about landing in a potentially bad neighborhood upon check-in. Luckily, to our surprise the area is lined with beautiful architecture which we observed in the taxi ride over to her building, which itself is quite architecturally nice given the higher Italian standards. Of course, when we arrived, Carola stuck her head out of her window and we shouted to each other in a very Italian form of communicate - loudly from the street up to and along the façade of a building. That's when we knew we were dealing with a local and felt comfortable after all the stress of moving. When we entered, Carola's place seemed massive because of the tall ceilings and solidly dense floors and walls. It was very well-lit, with light flooding in from the windows. Unfortunately, we misunderstood Carola about check-in time, and arrived much earlier while the cleaner was still preparing the space. However, Carola instead of kicking us out, she accommodated us in the room that they had converted into an office. Shortly after, she handed over the apartment to us and we remained in contact over (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). The neighborhood was absolutely safe, and Carola gave us a number of great suggestions to become more familiarized. Thanks to Carola's consideration to list her place, we had an amazing time in Milano, ate so well, and felt at home for the remainder of our trip - and left the earlier stress behind. Carola did leave us a little bottle of wine to drink, which for some reason we packed instead of drinking in the apartment, and which we opened here in NYC. It was delicious, and very unique, but watch out, it might make you sleepy. We were a combination of both business travelers and a traveling family, so for anyone like us considering a place where you can work and feel at home, we highly suggest this listing. Thank you Carola & Alessandro!
