My home is in a beautiful residential area with tree-lined streets and a small park studded with ancient oak trees. The area is relatively flat with some gentle hills that are easy for biking and walking. It is safe and quiet here, and my guests love the convenience of parking in front of the house with easy access to all things wine country.
The first thing you see when approaching the house is the colorful garden leading to the front door. The natural light is beautiful inside. At the end of the day, enjoy a quiet night's sleep in your private bedroom with a Stearns & Foster queen bed and luxurious down comforter and linens!

I love to share my art collection, my garden, my cooking and food testing for my cookbook, my runs to the farmer's market, and my knowledge of Marin and Sonoma County. As a local, I can help you get the most out of a short visit to the wine country and California. I am a Californian, have lived in Sonoma for the past 18 years, and have explored every nook and cranny of this area and the state. As a former sales and marketing executive with Panasonic, I traveled much of the world for business and pleasure. It is fun sharing my favorite places with you and learning about your travels and interests. It is my joy to tell you all about our wine country culture, our farm to table lifestyle cooking and the best of Sonoma.
My home features luxury bath products (bath gels, shampoo and conditioner, body creams, hairspray, toothpaste and brushes, hair dryer, and the safety products recommended by Airbnb: Home First Aid Kit, Emergency Safety Card, Smoke and CO Detector.
I am required to collect a Transient Occupancy Tax, or ‘bed tax', under State Revenue and Taxation Code Section 7280. This tax is levied at a rate of 9% in Sonoma County and is a revenue used by the local government. This is included in my room rate for guests staying less than 30 days. There is no bed tax for long term guests (one month or more).
No drugs or smoking. Quiet hours are 10:00 PM-6:00 AM. Let me know if you have any special needs so that I can accommodate you to the best of my ability. Please adhere to water and utility conservation in Sonoma. I expect you to treat my home as if it were your own. You are welcome here as family. Please advise me of your arrival time so I can arrange my schedule to greet you and get you oriented. This isn't a hotel where you fall asleep in the lobby waiting for your room to be ready. I like to cater to you. Just let me know what works for you and I will give you a flexible check-in. Even if a previous guest hasn't left or if the maid is still sprucing up your room, you can come here and refresh, change clothes, and drop off luggage. If you have a meeting and need something pressed, we can figure it out!

I live in my home and am typically here to greet you, give you a brief welcoming reception with wine and small bites, get you oriented, give you the key to the house, help plan your wine country itinerary, suggest restaurants and make dinner reservations. I stock coffee and tea for your use along with milk, cream and sugar, along with breakfast cereals, breads, butter and jams and fresh fruit and yoghurt, and eggs to get you started in the morning. I cook breakfast and you are invited to join me. I love getting to know you and visiting if you enjoy interaction and am also respectful of your wishes for privacy and alone time. On rare occasions I may not be available but will have a host concierge greet you to get you oriented and check you out. I love exceeding your expectations for hospitality and treating you like family.
Welcome to my home. I have lived in the town of Sonoma for 15 years and find it a happy, relaxed place to have a healthy lifestyle. I was born in Virginia but have lived most of my life in California with a couple of years in Chicago and Washington, DC. I have traveled extensively around the world and love to meet interesting people. My favorite sport is Alpine skiing. I play a little golf, kayak in San Francisco Bay, and enjoy hiking. My alma mater is UC Berkeley and and I did graduate work at George Washington University.
I have been blessed with three wonderful careers, starting as a University department manager, segueing into management and organization development, and spending the last 10 years of my working life as a marketing and sales manager for Panasonic. Now retired, I traded in the urban lifestyle for the convivial lifestyle of the wine country. The simple things - - great food, great wine, great conversation, and great friends new and old - - are the makings of my happy life.
I lean toward classical music and even love the opera, but jazz and popular songs are also music to my ears. In my spare time, I gravitate towards gardening, Alpine skiing, golf, hiking, and writing my first cookbook. Food and wine are front and center stage in my life these days. And I am an avid, independent traveler. My last few trips were to Ireland, Scotland, Egypt, Jordan and Morocco, Australia and France, Argentina and Chile. My favorite island is Tahiti, and my most amazing experience was on a safari in Tanzania. The Greek Islands kept me hopping and delighted with Greek hospitality. The countries of my heart are France, Italy, England and Switzerland. You will typically find me sojourning off the beaten path!
Sonoma is a unique small town, casual and sophisticated in subtle ways, fun to discover and welcoming to visitors. I can help you know where to go, where to eat, and all about our special wineries. I have the local maps for you when you arrive. If you haven't had time to figure out what to do, I can help with last minute planning. Sonoma has spoiled me with handcrafted foods and farm to table cooking. My home is in a very quiet neighborhood on the West side of town near the Sonoma Mission Inn, the gateway to the Sonoma Valley where you will find wineries up Highway 12 and have easy access to everything Sonoma. You will find high thread count cotton sheets, down pillows and a European down comforter on your bed. Your bedroom is cozy and my home is relaxed, comfortable, and conveniently located. It will be my sincere pleasure to make you feel at home here. I look forward to meeting you and hearing about your dreams and adventures!
