Anzio is a very pleasent Historical town chossen by Nero as his residence and then also by several Popes. Nero's villa remainings on the sea are spectacular. It is possible to visit the outstanding Pontine Achipelago by ferry departing 2 times a day from harbour. Anzio is a fishing port and every restaurant in town has delicious and typical ways of cooking always super fresh fish dishes.
The town center is also very nice and pleasent and you can find all sorts of shops and services.
Ideal location also off season and in winter for visiting Rome without stress.
