Thank you Anette for your nice commentary. I hope you were not too embarrassed about the toilets upstairs that was out of order. The agency only told me after your departure. If I had known it earlier, I would have sent a plumber to repair it. I am very pleased you enjoyed your stay. Best regards Chantal
The apartment is in a nice location and is comfortable, but there are some things travelers should know. There is a lot of mold in the main bathroom. The steps going upstairs to the rooms are very crooked and have extremely low ceilings. The upstairs master had a toilet in t…

Nick, I do think your commentary is unfair and unjustified 1. The issue of the number of toilet paper rolls: when you complained to me about it, Adriana contacted you immediately and explained to you that they provide a “welcoming kit” on the arrival of tenants: it includes a roll of paper toilet, some hand soap, tea, coffee etc. It is meant to meet our tenants’ needs on their arrival. But then, they are expected to do some shopping for their whole stay. It is not stinginess because toilet paper rolls are very cheap. Our agents are very reliable people and they prefer to set a high premium on the cleanliness of the flat for instance than the number of toilet paper rolls. 2. True, the bathroom ceiling is a bit mouldy but we are not renting the flat in November for three weeks to repair and redecorate the bathroom, kitchen and the main bedroom. 3. Concerning the staircase: on our Airbnb site, there is a photo of the staircase, it is described as narrow and old. So, this shouldn’t have been a surprise to you. The building dates back to the 17th century and when we redecorated it, we absolutely wanted to keep traces of the past while providing all the modern amenities. Many tenants think it is part of the charm of our flat. 4. As regards your complaint about the WI-FI: when tenants enter the flat, it is one of the points that is checked. You signed the check-in document, so the Wi-Fi was ok. Now, you never complained about it either to me or to the agency. If you had, I would have been very prompt to answer because I know, the Wi-Fi is essential because our tenants come from the whole world. Nobody has ever complained about it as can be seen on former tenants’ commentaries. 5. You are criticizing our artistic choices: our flat is full of valuable paintings and sculptures which you may not like. However, I am sorry to hear you are not open to other people’s artistic tastes. My general impression, Nick, is that you were fixated on the issue of toilet paper and to make your criticism more admissible, you added other negative comments that are not justified. I am sorry about it because I always do my utmost to meet our tenants ‘requests provided they are acceptable.
