The town of Wheeler was born in the early 1900's and still is a sweet small town today. Locals call Wheeler Pukalani, or 'hole in the sky' because it is lucky enough to sit in a coastal sun-hole. The mountains around Wheeler protect from winds and allow the sun to shine while many nearby areas are hidden in fog and mist.
This fun home has quirky character. Look for the closet with no ceiling. Find the porthole. Wonder aloud at the handmade trim, there are definitely some amusing details!
The living room windows are nearly floor to ceiling. You'll feel wonderfully connected to your coastal surroundings even when lounging on the couch with a good book. Schedule your day around sunset because you won't want to miss it! The living, dining, kitchen, 1 king bedroom and the 1 full bathroom are on the main floor. Two flatscreen TVs are provided. The large 55 inch TV in the living room is ready for your own Netflix, Amazon and other accounts. Cable TV and free wifi is also provided.

The main floor king bedroom has a flatscreen TV with cable and USB ports if you want to bring your ROKU or chromecast.
Upstairs is an open loft, spanning the length of the home. This is also the 2nd king sleeping area. If you utilize the full futon in the loft for a 3rd sleeping area, there is a small room dividing screen to divide the space. The full futon is part of the upstairs loft living space. Great for coffee and a good book! Check the closet for puzzles and games too. The loft balcony gets even more horizon and sunset view than the main floor deck. You'll have lots of sunset viewing options.
For those sleeping upstairs, please note that our many skylights really bring the outdoors in! If you are a light sleeper, bring your earplugs in case of nighttime rain storms or early morning birdies.
The backyard is grassy and level in case you want to play some yard games. There is even a bay and mountain view from the backyard. Generally, you'll be amazed at the slope of the roads in and around town in general. Wheeler has definitely been carved out of a hillside which makes for fun and interesting in-town walks. Be prepared for hills! Happily, being this high also means this you will sleep and rest outside of the tsunami zone.

You are free to store your gear in the basement during your stay. The washer and dryer are also located down there. The cement basement is accessed via an external door only. It's not accessible from inside the house. The basement is darkish and smells like a basement. It's definitely not a pleasant basement for hanging out in. The washer and dryer are brand new though and your clothes should be fine getting washed down there!
