It has a 12th century church which if you look out through the wooden entrance gates you will just make out through the hedge and has a very unusual wooden tower. The village houses 15 listed buildings, many of which are half timbered and a number of other buildings of character or historical interest. Winforton Court, once owned by Roger Mortimer Earl of March, was used on several occasions in the 17th century as a court by Judge Jeffreys. Bungalows off Winforton Common Lane which is opposite the lane to Rose Cottage were used as laboratories by Professor Merton who worked with Barnes Wallis testing the famous “bouncing bomb”.
