Earned Super Host status in just two months! Private apartment on Capitol Hill provides the perfect home base for a D.C. getaway. Set on a quiet block between two Metro stops, historic Eastern Market, Barracks Row restaurants, the Navy Yard, U.S. Capitol, Supreme Court, Library of Congress, Nationals Park, the National Mall, parks and more.
A great place for anyone with business on Capitol Hill or for a couple or small family looking for weekend exploring in Washington.
Set on the bottom floor of our 19th-century rowhouse, the apartment is a long studio that provides a living area, a queen-sized bed, a full kitchen, a desk for working and laundry. In the past, we have had full-time tenants: a Congressional chief of staff and a member of the Kennedy Center's opera house orchestra. It's an excellent home base for Washington work or pleasure. For families with a baby or toddler, we have a Pack N' Play available. For families with an older child, we have comfortable air mattresses available.
Zugang für Gäste
The space is completely private. Guests have their own entrance, and there is no access to the apartment from upstairs, where the host lives with his family. A tremendous place for a professional with work to do in the evenings, a student/Washington intern, or a couple ready to see the sights. Keys are obtained through a lock box, making check-in and check-out extremely flexible and convenient.
Interaktion mit Gästen
My intention is to be able to greet each guest at some point, and I'm extremely responsive to requests or queries about the living space, the surrounding area, to give restaurant recommendations, to provide a parking pass, etc. However, given travel -- both personal and professional -- I can't guarantee I'll be available in person all the time. Plus, guests deserve their space.

Parking: With advance notice, we can provide a visitors' parking pass to park on the street. This is where we park, and it's no problem. There is ample parking in the neighborhood. Rarely would you have to park more than half a block away. We would just need to know your car's license plate number so we can get the pass from the neighborhood police station.
- Back door is an emergency exit only.
- Fireplace is not to be used.
We have lived on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. for more than a dozen years. We love our neighborhood and want to expose it to other people as the perfect place from which to explore the nation's capital.
