Miriam’s apartment was just as described. I was a bit hesitant to book this apartment for so long without seeing it in person after some questionable Airbnb experiences over the summer, but Miriam was very patient and answered all my questions regarding the apartment prior to booking. The apartment was clean, spacious, and had ample storage in bedroom for all your clothes. Even though Miriam was rarely home, we did get to spend some time together and she was very friendly and helpful with tips about the city. I didn’t arrive until nearly 12am and Miriam still waited up for me, so I would be able to check in easily. One of the best things about this apartment is the spectacular view. The Independence Day parade passed right by this building and was an added bonus. Everything you need is very central to this apartment. You can easily walk to the closest grocery store, Bodega Aurrera, which was only 600m away. If you are considering renting a car, don’t do it. There really is no need. I was planning on doing so but soon realized that parking in Polanco, where I had to go quite often, is a hassle. It’s much cheaper and faster to use Uber. If you are interested in working out, this apartment has a decent gym which I used quite a few times. It’s missing a barbell, but otherwise it will suffice just fine. The lap pool is amazing and 1.4m deep. I thoroughly enjoyed swimming laps in this pool. The kitchen had adequate utensils and cookware to cook all my meals. Although Miriam has a weekly maid service, she does expect you to clean up after yourself in the kitchen. This was not a problem for me, and I appreciated that she also didn’t let dishes pile up in the kitchen. Obviously, this apartment is in the heart of the city, so expect to hear some traffic noise, especially in the morning. Otherwise, this apartment is absolutely perfect, everything you need in a very convenient location. Since I was at the apartment during one of the earthquakes, I can attest to the safety of this building. It was built to withstand earthquakes. Although you will feel the building sway quite a bit, especially on the top floor, with the added supports, you will be safe. The building suffered very little damage, mostly just cosmetic drywall cracks, from both earthquakes in September 2017. This was my first experience with an earthquake, and I was very thankful that the building was built to withstand them. I will definitely be staying here again. Miriam provided a great, safe accommodation and wonderful conversation.
