I feel very bad that you did not remember (?) or sadly mistaken (?) about which accommodation you have booked for your holiday. We currently have two apartments for rent on Air BNB. 1 is our big luxurious penthouse for 8 persons and number 2 is the apartment you booked, the family townhouse for 4 persons (the much cheaper one). I do not understand you did not made a comment at check in if you thought you booked the luxurious one (?). Which you did not. I feel like you rent the cheapest apartment and after a few days ask for a upgrade to our most luxurious apartment or a money refund. This is not how it works! As the moment you and your family arrived I congratulate your twin daughters with their 21st birthday here in Aruba, as you mentioned in your reservation, but they said that their birthday was already in February (?) I felt very uncomfortable because of the lie you put in your reservation. The moment you and your family arrived, it already seemed like nothing could satisfy you and your family, not even the welcome gift and champagne, the offer to pick you and your family up from the airport for free or the effort I put in for you to get you cheap tickets for the Palm Island excursion. I gave you and your daughters my local cellphone number and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) contact information so you could reach me 24/7 for anything, since this is my job and I live in the same street as the apartments. Unfortunately you did not use this extra service because you did not want to spend money on your USA phone and your daughters did not want to add me on their (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). The next day I got a phone call because there was a inconvenience with the power (air-conditioning) the night before in the apartment but we fixed it right away. I also told you to contact me earlier, but you did not felt the need to inform me on the moment this inconvenience was happening! The stove etc. is certainly not broken because you used it everyday during your whole vacation. I feel bad you felt the urge to vandalize the power box on the wall, which was totally damaged and coming of from the wall after you left. This is not the way you deal with other people's stuff Mrs. Martin. We did offer you a 2 night stay in one of our accommodations for your next stay because of the power inconvenience but you immediately claimed your money back in cash ($400 for 7 nights with 4 adults) or you would leave a bad recommendation on AIR BNB. I felt threatened by you but I told you I can not refund your money in cash and we certainly don't like blackmail. (You know everything has to go through AIR BNB and I will not do cash refunds directly with guests without AIR BNB) I will not refund your money because the things you state are not correct!! You are no longer welcome in our accommodations Mrs. Martin and Family.
I would like to warn other AIR BNB owners for these type of guests who love to have a free holiday in one of your most luxurious accommodations and afterwards threaten you to write false reviews.
